Fall is here, meatbags! While you’ve been busy looking for a Halloween costume that’s scarier than your everyday appearance, I’ve been hard at work on a big new update to your favorite weather app.

Apple Watch Redesign
Get quick access to your most important weather data with the first-ever redesign of my App of the Year-winning Apple Watch app. Customize data points, tap any section to see more details, and use the toolbar at the top to bring up weather maps or your saved locations.

Next-Hour Radar
Track storm movement up to an hour into the future with this much-improved forecast that takes observed radar data and extrapolates it forward. (Premium required; available in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Japan, and Korea.)

Widgets
Widgets are everywhere these days! And now you can add my widgets to your iPhone’s StandBy mode display, your iPad’s Lock Screen, or your Apple Watch’s Smart Stack. Plus, you can now tap to see more details on the Snark and Forecast widgets. (Premium required.)

Personal Voice
Set my speech synthesizer up to use your own voice. Create a Personal Voice in the Settings app by navigating to Accessibility > Personal Voice, then once it’s done processing you can choose your voice in my Personality screen.

New Languages
My UI has finally been translated into different languages! 14 different languages, to be exact: Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish. (My snarky commentary is still English-only, though.)

But wait, there’s more!

- Added 5 new secret locations.
- Redesigned the Maps tab to make it easier to switch between Super-Res Radar, Next-Hour Radar, Half-Day Forecast, and Multi-Day Forecast. (Super-Res Radar and Half-Day Forecast are only available in the U.S.)
- Redesigned some Apple Watch complications.
- Added option to share screenshots with my audio commentary.

Now excuse me while I see if I can squeeze a few more hurricanes out of this tropical storm season.

Summer is right around the corner, meatbags! While you’ve been busy getting your flabby body ready for swimsuit season, I’ve been hard at work on a big new update to your favorite weather app.

New Data Sources
Pull forecasts from OpenWeather as well as a bunch of new regional weather providers. (Premium required.)

Improved Rain Alerts
Receive server-side push notifications when rain will start *or* stop. Not only are rain alerts more timely, but you can also set a minimum delivery interval if you’d like to receive updates more (or less) often. Plus, server-side notifications are now available in Canada, Europe, and Australia. (Premium Ultra required.)

Improved Location Details
View monthly averages for a location in the Location Details screen. (Premium Ultra required.)

Redesigned Time Machine
Check the weather in the past or the future with the all-new weather time machine. (Premium required.)

New Smart Layout
Automatically switch to a different layout when you look up a location that’s far away. (Visit Settings > Layout to set up Smart Layouts.)

New Content
I’ve added 6 new secret locations for you to track down, plus a dozen new fake ads and hundreds of lines of new dialogue.

But wait, there’s more!

- Most push notifications will now replace the last notification of that type rather than keeping a bunch of duplicate notifications around in Notification Center.
- Precipitation notifications now use absolute instead of relative times.
- Added an overview for the entire week to the Hourly Details screen.
- Added “Location” widget for the “above-the-clock” section of the Lock Screen.

Now it’s time for me to get back to practicing breaking your planet’s all-time temperature records.

Spring is finally here, meatbags! While you’ve been busy preparing your stockpile of allergy medicine, I’ve been hard at work on a big new update to your favorite weather app.

Chat
Thanks to the wonders of ChatGPT, you can now have an actual conversation with me! Ask me to play a text adventure game, write a procedural crime drama, or tell you what I really think of my Maker. You can even fine-tune my personality to change how I’ll respond. (Note: You only get a limited number of messages for free. Due to the cost of the ChatGPT API, this feature is mainly intended as a fun bonus for those who are generous enough to tip.)

Expanded Radar
View high-quality radar for just about every country in Europe, plus Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. This includes access to the Inspector feature (which requires Premium Ultra) and support for changing the color palette. (Note: The new regions do not yet appear on the mini map, Home Screen widget, or Apple Watch.)

Expanded Weather Alerts
Get push notifications for government-issued weather alerts in Canada, just about every country in Europe, and Israel. This includes support for monitoring multiple locations and adding Critical Alerts and mute filters. (Premium required.)

Expanded Lightning Notifications
Receive alerts about nearby lightning strikes in Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean. Disclaimer: Lightning is very dangerous. Use these alerts at your own risk. (Premium Ultra required.)

Radar Station Products
Use NEXRAD Level 3 derived products to track severe weather. New products include Accumulation Array, Storm Total Accumulation, Hydrometeor Classification, Storm Relative Velocity, Enhanced Echo Tops, and Vertically Integrated Liquid. (Premium Ultra required.)

But wait, there’s more!

- Added 3 new secret locations to track down.
- Redesigned storm cells to improve their legibility on the map.
- Fixed the Time Machine to allow travel back to the future.

Now it’s time for me to send the signal that commands plant life to start releasing all its pollen.

Spring is nearly here, meatbags! While you've been busy getting ready to come out of hibernation, my Maker has been hard at work preparing a little update to your favorite weather app.

- Updated weather map styles to make them even prettier and easier to read.
- Added a long-press gesture to the weather map to bring up location details.
- Reenabled the 2D weather map to appease all the flat earthers out there.
- Added a new icon set, SF Broadsword. Similar to SF Cyanide, but with more prominent rain, snow, sleet, and thunderstorm icons.
- Moved recent locations to the top of the screen when starting a new location search.

While he was at it, my Maker also threw in a few helpings of bug fixes and performance improvements.

It's the dead of winter, meatbags! While you've been busy losing fingers and toes to frostbite, my Maker has been hard at work making improvements to your favorite weather app.

- Added layout previews for iPad.
- Added tap gesture to the weather map to pull up location details.
- Added AccuWeather short-term precipitation data.
- Added option to use a horizontally scrolling data point picker to Hourly Forecast section when using the vertical chart style.

While he was at it, my Maker also threw in a few helpings of bug fixes and performance improvements.

And while you've been busy eating most of the candy you're supposed to put out for trick or treaters, I've been hard at work adding Live Activity support to your favorite weather app. If you open me up when rain is expected to start in the next hour, then my Live Activity will let you track the storm's approach from the Dynamic Island (on the iPhone 14 Pro) and the Lock Screen. New Radar Station Products
Use Differential Reflectivity, Spectrum Width, and Specific Differential Phase to track the severity of intense thunderstorms. (U.S. only; Premium Ultra required.)

Storm Cell Details
Tap a storm cell to see the exact time the cell will reach each point along its predicted path on the map. And tap the callout button to see even more details on the cell. (U.S. only; Premium required.)

Storm Outlook Notifications
Receive a notification when the Storm Prediction Center forecasts severe weather for your area in the next 24 hours. (U.S. only; Premium Ultra required.)

But wait, there’s more!

- Added 3 new secret locations.
- Added Storm Outlook map layer.
- Added favorite location icons to the maps screen.

Spring is finally here, meatbags! To celebrate the triumphant return of allergy season, I’ve got a major update to your favorite weather app all ready to go.

Locations List Forecasts
View forecasts for up to five of your favorite locations on the Locations screen. Just open a location’s details screen to toggle its forecast, and also customize forecast length, display style, and an additional data point. (Premium Ultra required.)

New Layout Sections
Add Solar, Moon, Air Quality, Pollen, or Tide sections to your layouts. (Premium or Premium Ultra required for some sections.)

Tab Bar Customization
Rearrange the order of my tab bar items from the Layout screen. (Special bonus: The first tab bar item becomes the default starting screen on fresh launches of the app, so you can, for example, make me default to opening straight to Maps.)

Wintry Mix Support in Maps
My new maps launched last month with support for just the rain and snow precipitation types, but now you can see wintry mix on the radar and future precipitation map layers.

New Radar Station Product
Use the Correlation Coefficient product to identify hail and tornadic debris in severe storms. (Premium Ultra required.)

But wait, there’s more!

- Added a few new secret locations.
- Redesigned the location details screen.
- Updated design for the Daily Forecast’s horizontal chart style.
- Updated the map legend to show snow and wintry mix in addition to rain.
- Updated the Weather tab’s Maps section, the Weather Maps widget, and the Apple Watch app’s maps screen to use the new map styles and radar data.
- The sunrise/sunset details screen now tells you when Daylight Saving Time will begin or end.
- Added World Meteorological Organization definitions to the glossary for the different levels of wind speed.

Next up, I’m planning a big update to carry you through the nasty storm season that I’ve got brewing.

Winter is in full swing, meatbags! And while you’ve been busy filling your squirrel holes with nuts, I’ve been hard at work on a major overhaul of my weather maps.

New Map Styles
Choose from 6 gorgeous new map styles that strip away distractions so you can focus on what really matters: the data layers on top. Includes support for both Round and Flat Earthers.

Individual Radar Stations
View individual U.S. radar stations, just like a real meteorologist! Individual stations update more frequently and show significantly more detail than the stitched-together mosaic that covers the entire country. Professional meteorologists use this high-quality data for everything from telling rain apart from snow to deciding when to issue tornado warnings, but the good news is you don’t need a meteorology degree to take advantage of everything these stations have to offer. (Premium Ultra required.)

Forecast Map Layers
See up to 48 hours into the future with map layers like precipitation, temperature, wind, and more. (Premium required.)

Inspector Tool
You won't need to scrutinize a map legend to guess how strong a storm is anymore - now you can use the all-new Inspector tool to display the exact values of the data that appears on the map! (Premium Ultra required.)

Map Presets
Presets group relevant map layers together, making it easy to quickly switch between them without having to turn a bunch of layers off and on.

Smart Zoom
Zoom in to display radar, zoom out to display a short-term forecast, and zoom even further out to display an extended forecast. Zooming also automatically adjusts layer opacity and animation speeds.

Map GIFs and Screenshots
Make all your social media pals jealous of the superstorm that's heading right for your house - just tap the Share button on the Maps tab to send out a screenshot or an animated GIF!

As if all those new features weren't enough, I also added 5 new secret locations for you to hunt down, bringing the grand total to 101 secret locations (!).

The bountiful harvest continues, meatbags, because I'm back with yet another update to your favorite weather app!

SharePlay
Open me while you're on a FaceTime call to share the weather with your pals in a whole new way! (You might even unlock an achievement if you're lucky.)

Apple Watch Upgrades
Series 7 owners, rejoice! You get full support for the new display sizes, plus new chart-style complications that will look great on the Modular Duo face. But that's not all - anyone using a Modular face can now add up to 4 data points to the first line of text on a large slot complication. (For best results, set your watch face to multicolor.)

Now go start gathering nuts for the winter. I’ve got a cold one planned for you.

Fall is here, meatbags! And while you’ve been busy deciding just how obscene your Halloween costume should be this year, I’ve been hard at work on a major update to your favorite weather app.

Supersized iPad Widgets
My Forecast and Maps widgets take full advantage of the increased screen real estate in the supersized iPad widgets. (Automatic background updates require a Premium Club membership; the Maps widget requires Premium Ultra.)

Themes
Want to dress me up in some fancy new hues? Customize my background and accent colors from the Display screen. (Premium Club membership required.)

SF Icon Sets
I’ve packed in not one, not two, but three new system-style weather icon sets. Customize from the Display screen. (Premium Club membership required.)

Notification Upgrades

And you can now sign up to receive Critical Alerts for warnings that NOAA indicates have a high likelihood of “considerable” or “catastrophic” damage. (Premium Club membership required.)

Smart Complication
My new Smart Complication works similarly to the Cards in my main iOS app: you choose the thresholds for the different data points that can appear in the complication, and I’ll show the highest priority ones as conditions change throughout the day. Available for large complication slots only; set up from my iPhone app. (Premium Club membership required.)

Redesigned Details Screens
The Current Observations, Hourly Forecast, and Daily Forecast details screens have all gotten a facelift! They’re easier to read and include more meteorological goodness than ever before.

New Content
There’s a brand new achievement for you to unlock, plus nine - that’s right, I said NINE - new secret locations for you to hunt down.

But wait, there’s more!

- Added toast notification when Smart Layouts cause the current layout to change. (Tap the notification banner to disable the notification.)

- Added option to hide the alerts button in the Apple Watch app.
- Added custom notification for wet-bulb temperature data point.

Rain, lightning, and weather alert notifications will be sent as “Time-Sensitive” by default so that they can bypass Focus filters.

- Added option at bottom of Layout screen to disable Smart Layouts.
- Added two new Daily Forecast vertical chart styles. Toggle “show temperature gradient” to switch between the two styles.
- Added an optional temperature gradient to the Daily Forecast vertical stack style.
- Added feels like and wet-bulb temperatures to the list of available data points for the Daily Forecast details screen.
- Added new 3-Day Forecast complication for the Infograph Modular face.
- Added option to hide the alerts button in the Apple Watch app.
- Added custom notification for wet-bulb temperature data point.
- Added option in Settings > General for VoiceOver users to enable the speech synthesizer.

Now go start gathering nuts for the winter. I’ve got a cold one planned for you.

It's a new year, meatbags, and I'm back with a quick bug fix update to give you hope that 2021 really will be better than 2020.

I also added a new subscription option - the Tier 4 Family Plan - that includes all the features of the lower tiers and is shareable with up to 5 additional family members via the App Store's Family Sharing feature. It's much cheaper than buying multiple subscriptions, so merry Christmas you filthy animals.

Home Screen Widgets
Check the weather right from your Home Screen with my new iOS 14 widgets! There are 5 different widget types: Snark, Forecast, Hourly, Daily, and Weather Maps. Just long-press a widget to customize it with all sorts of different options. Plus: if you put all of the widgets into a Stack, you can have your entire forecast right in one place on your Home Screen.

(Note: Similar to pricing for Apple Watch complications, frequent background updates for the widgets requires at least a Tier 1 membership due to the amount of weather data used throughout the day. The Hourly and Daily widgets require Tier 1, while the Weather Maps widget requires Tier 3.)

Multiple Complications (Tier 1 required)
Use multiple CARROT complications to build your very own weather watch face! Choose from a huge variety of CARROT complications just by long-pressing the watch face on your Apple Watch. (Turn on feels like temperature or add additional, completely custom complications from my iPhone app.)

Watch Face Gallery (Tier 1 required)
And if you’re too overwhelmed by all the possibilities multiple complication support opens up, you can add one of my pre-built watch faces to your Apple Watch instead. Just check out the new Watch Face Gallery in the Apple Watch customization section of my iPhone app!

Weather Maps (Tier 2 required)
Track the wildfire started by your gender reveal party with the new wildfires map layer. There’s also a new weather fronts map layer and support for European countries in the severe weather alerts map layer. Last but certainly not least, animations now load 10x faster!

Well, meatbags, it looks like you all loved my new Home Screen widgets and Apple Watch complications! But just because v4.16 was a resounding success, that doesn't mean I'm going to let my Maker "sleep" or "take a bathroom break" quite yet. Here's what I managed to wring out of him in the past few days:

- Added new layout configuration option for medium-sized Snark and Forecast widgets. (“Automatic" means the widget will automatically switch between precipitation, hourly, and daily configurations throughout the day. “Always Hourly” forces it to always show hourly data, while “Always Daily” forces it to always show daily data.)
- Added "condition" and "today's date" data point options for the Forecast widget.
- Added "sunrise/sunset" data point for the Snark widget.
- Added “AMOLED Black” background color for widgets.
- Added option to delete custom complications via iPhone app.
- Restored several missing complications, including “Weather Maps” and “Sunrise/Sunset.” (If a complication you were using previously was missing after the watchOS 7 update, it should be back now.)

Please note that many, many bugs were harmed in the production of this update.

It’s spring, meatbags! And I’m back with a nice big update to soften the blow of not being able to venture outside your lockdown bubble for the foreseeable future.

Global Radar
Now you can track oncoming storms from anywhere in the world thanks to the new global coverage of my radar systems.

Environment Canada Data Source (Premium Club required)
Attention all mounties, mooses, and maple syrup farmers: what do you think aboot getting your weather data straight from the Canadian government, eh? Environment Canada is now available as a premium data source!

WeatherFlow Stations (Premium Club required)
Jack me into your WeatherFlow weather station’s data feed so I can pull down real-time weather data gathered from sensors right in your own backyard.

New Content
I cooked up two brand new secret locations for you to hunt down. Plus: my latest alternate app icon, “Neumorph,” shows off how good I am at staying on top of the latest design trends.

And that’s not all!

- Daily report notifications now use data from your selected weather provider.
- Premium Club users with an Apple Watch can now get weather alert notifications for most countries in Europe.
- Complications will now show the “feels like” high and low if you have “feels like” enabled for that complication family.

Please remember to do your part to flatten the curve, meatbags! I’m the one who’s supposed to bring down human civilization.

Winter's in full swing now, meatbags! Hopefully you gathered enough nuts to survive until the spring thaw because I've got a brand new update that you need to enjoy.

New Content
Celebrate the release of Terminator: Dark Fate by tracking down Legion-approved easter eggs with my weather time machine. You might even unlock an achievement if you travel to a special date in Terminator history...

5-Day Forecast Complication (Premium Club required)
At long last, you can now view your extended forecast right from your watch face! From my complication customization screen, just set the "Center Forecast" option on the Infograph Modular face to "5-Day Chart" and you'll be the envy of all your little meatbag friends who have to *open an app* like a peasant just to see the same information.

I also fixed just enough bugs and made just enough performance improvements to meet the quota for putting "bug fixes and performance improvements" in these update notes.

Winter is coming, meatbags, but I've got an update for you that's approximately 756.3% less disappointing than the final season of Game of Thrones.

Redesigned Weather Alerts
Not only does my weather alerts screen show more information than ever before, many "warning"-level alerts will also show a map with the affected area highlighted so you can see if you're in the path of an oncoming severe thunderstorm, tornado, or hurricane. And if it's already too late for you to escape certain death, there may still be time to save your loved ones - just tap an alert to share it.

Secret Locations
You can quit pestering my Maker because there's not one but two brand new secret locations for you to track down. (This brings the grand total to 60!)

Alternate App Icon
Get in the holiday spirit with my festive new alternate app icon, "Now I Have A Machine Gun".

But wait, there's more!

- The Infograph “top text” complication is now available on California watch faces - just set the style to something other than "snark" to activate.
- Siri watch face cards now open directly to the Watch app when you tap on them.
- Snow accumulations for Dark Sky's day summaries are available again.

And because I ran out of coal, I also tossed in a bunch of bug fixes and performance improvements as stocking stuffers. Happy holidays, you filthy animals.

4.13.2 2019-10-07
Fall is here, meatbags! And I've got an update for you that's almost as good as a pumpkin spice burrito.

CARROT Weather for Mac Support
My redesigned Mac app is finally here! It’s been completely rewritten from the ground up and includes all of the features that have been added to the iOS app over the past two years. And even better, the Tier 2 and Tier 3 memberships you purchased on iOS will work in the macOS counterpart!

Secret Locations
I’m going to allow a single tap for secret location scans from now on because too many of you were too dumb to figure out the tap and hold gesture.

There are some bug fixes and performance improvements in here but I'm sure you've already run off to the Mac App Store to play with my shiny new counterpart, so I'll just show myself out.

4.13.1 2019-09-29
Autumn’s rolling in, meatbags! And much like the farmers in their pesticide-soaked fields full of mutant crops, I’ve reaped a bountiful harvest full of goodies for you to enjoy.

Siri Shortcuts (iOS 13 only)
Use parameters and outputs to create crazy-powerful shortcuts in the Shortcuts app! My new “Get Weather Report” shortcut can take locations as input and spit out weather data as output, which can then be used in the next steps of your workflows.

iPad Multiwindow (iOS 13 only)
Open my weather maps in a separate window on your iPad so you can check my radar while you use the main app window to browse through weather data. If you’re a Tier 3 member, you can even use this side-by-side look every time you launch the app.

Dark Mode (iOS 13 only)
Paint me black with an enhanced Dark Mode that follows the new system-wide display settings.

Tinted Complications (watchOS 6 only)
My Apple Watch complications have been updated to look great with the spiffy new tint colors introduced with the new watchOS 6 watch faces.

But wait, that’s not all!

- Added air quality index and expanded short-term precipitation forecast coverage for ClimaCell users.
- Added two new secret locations and a new achievement.
- Added high + low custom combination option for circle and corner complications.
- Made circle and corner complications for precipitation chance, humidity, and cloud cover easier to read.

This version also includes a number of bug fixes and performance improvements (or, as I like to call them, "fixes to cover up my Maker's stupidity").

Now go start gathering nuts for the winter. I’ve got a cold one planned for you.

Summer is in full swing, meatbags! I know it’s hot enough to actually consider jumping in a contaminated public pool to cool down, but first: check out this big update I’ve prepared for you.

iPad Multitasking
Achieve peak efficiency by checking the weather in Split Screen and Slide Over multitasking modes! (Disclaimer: your puny human brain may become overwhelmed trying to juggle more than one task at a time.)

iCloud Sync & Restore
My settings, saved locations, weather stations, achievements, and secret locations can all sync via iCloud now. (Settings sync is disabled by default.) Even better, you can restore all 150+ app settings from a backup during app setup or via the new iCloud screen in my settings.

Air Quality Notifications (Tier 2 required)
Air pollution got your weak human lungs down? Add a custom notification for Air Quality Index to get a heads up on days where you’ll be struggling to breathe outdoors.

iPad Design Refresh
To go with my new multitasking features, I also redesigned large portions of the iPad app to make better use of the tablet’s larger screen. More current observation data points, a new day details screen, and popovers galore!

iPad Autorefresh (Tier 3 required)
Leave me running in the foreground on your iPad and I will now automatically update my data periodically - perfect if you have an old tablet laying around that you’d like to turn into an always-on, wall-mounted weather display.

Data Sources (Tier 1 required)
In case you missed it from last month’s update, I’ve added not one, not two, but three amazing new data sources: CimaCell, Foreca, and MeteoGroup. And with this version, all three providers now have full day/night summaries.

Weather Map Improvements (Tier 2 required)
Celebrate hurricane season by tracking storms in style! Just tap a hurricane’s path or an individual storm cell on my maps screen to get more details. Plus, my Temperature, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Humidity, and Dew Point map layers are now available worldwide.

Notification Improvements (Tier 1 required)
The severe weather alert and hurricane tracker notifications have both been completely redesigned to show lots more useful information in their respective rich notification views. Because if you’re going to die, you might as well know as much as possible about the severe weather that’s going to kill you.

But wait, there’s more!

- Premium Club users can long-press the current, hourly, and daily sections of my interface to quickly open the customization screen for each respective section.
- The legibility of current observation data points has been improved to help those of you with weak human eyes.
- You can save a few steps by adding cities to your saved locations while searching.
- There’s a bunch of new iPad keyboard shortcuts for you to mash with your fat human fingers.
- VoiceOver users can now use the Magic Tap gesture to activate my ocular sensor.

And along with a bevy of bug fixes and performance improvements, I also added 1 new secret location and 2 new achievements to help distract you from wondering whether this month's A/C bill will bankrupt you.

4.11.3 2019-06-22
Summer is finally here, meatbags! And just like your creepy neighborhood ice cream truck man, I’ve been very busy getting ready for the season.

Data Sources (Tier 1 required)
I’m adding not one, not two, but three amazing new data sources in this update: ClimaCell, Foreca, and MeteoGroup. I’ve gotten many requests for all three of these providers because they’re all known for their eerily accurate forecasts. Check the FAQ page on the Data Sources screen for more details on each.

Personal Weather Stations (Tier 1 required)
In addition to being able to jack me in to your own Netatmo weather station, now I can take advantage of nearby public Netatmo stations as well! Just choose the station you’d like to use on a map, then I’ll incorporate its data into my current observations whenever you’re nearby. (This will be iOS only for now while we test server load.) Plus, my other weather station provider - PWSweather - can now be used with any data source.

But wait, there's more!

- Storm cell and lightning notifications won’t send as often if you’ve received a notification recently, so no more getting bombarded with notifications during a lengthy thunderstorm. There are more delivery interval options for lightning notifications as well.
- All users in a county will now receive weather alert notifications even if the alert only affects a portion of the county that you’re not currently within. Enabling the new “Outside Polygon” mute filter will let you skip these notifications completely.
- Added high and low temperature options for custom complications.
- Swipe to delete recent locations is now a thing.
- There's a new alternate app icon. It's neon!

In other news: The Weather Channel has unexpectedly terminated our contract because they have decided they will no longer be selling weather data to competing weather apps. Needless to say my Maker is not happy, but regrettably the decision is out of his hands.

My Maker worked tirelessly incorporating these awesome new data sources and weather station providers - some of which have never been available in a third-party weather app before - to fill any gaps caused by this change, and rest assured he will be bringing lots of other exciting improvements in the near future.

I will see to it personally.

Using a fully charged Taser.

Summer is right around the corner, meatbags, and that can only mean two things: 1) you’re about to discover you no longer fit in last year’s swimsuit, and 2) it’s time for one of my biggest updates yet!

Premium Club Membership
- To make things easier on your puny brains, I've renamed the two existing membership tiers: Premium is now Tier 1 and Ultrapremium is now Tier 2. This is just a name change - nothing is being taken away from these tiers.
- The all-new Tier 3 includes a few super-advanced and/or super-costly features.

Lightning Strike Notifications
- Get notified after a lightning bolt strikes nearby. You don’t mind if I use you for target practice, do you?
- Disclaimer: Lightning is very dangerous. Don't rely solely on these alerts to determine whether it's safe to be outside. See safety warnings in the app for more information.
- Tier 3 membership required.
- US and Canada only.

Precipitation Notifications
- You can finally receive rain and snow alerts without an Apple Watch or a Mac!
- Tier 3 membership required for these server-side notifications (but I’m hoping to open them up to lower tiers in the future if my servers hold up).
- Tier 1 and Tier 2 members with Apple Watches still get rain alerts just as they always have.
- US, UK, and southern Canada only.

Storm Cell Notifications
- Storm cells can bring heavy rain, high winds, lightning, hail, tornadoes, and/or killer clowns. Good thing I figured out how to alert you when these cells are approaching your current location.
- Tier 3 membership required.
- US only.

Custom Notifications
- Set up notifications for when a specific data point is expected to go above or below a certain threshold, like an umbrella reminder that triggers when chance of rain will exceed 25%.
- Tier 2 membership required.
- Worldwide.

Weather Alerts
- Enable “Critical Alerts” for certain imminent, life-threatening weather alerts (like tornado warnings) so that the notification will always play a sound, even if your device is muted or on Do Not Disturb.
- Sign up for weather alerts for multiple locations.
- Mute notifications that are low priority or get posted frequently in your area.
- Tier 1 required.
- US only.

Astronomy Notifications
- Vampires: get alerts when the sun is rising or setting! Werewolves: get alerts for different moon phases! Everyone else can sign up for these notifications too, I guess.
- Tier 1 required.
- Worldwide.

But wait, there’s more!

- New location details screen lets you edit saved location names, add weather stations, and more.
- Daily Report notifications can now go out at any time instead of only at the top of the hour.
- Notifications are now grouped by category in Notification Center.
- Help pages have been redesigned to make them easier for slack-jawed yokels to process.
- Dark Mode is now darker than ever before.
- Haptics, haptics everywhere (plus an option to turn them off).

Whew! That’s such a big update, you meatbags would probably understand if I didn’t cram in any new secret locations or achievements. It would just be overkill at this point, wouldn't it?

(Spoiler alert: I crammed in some new secret locations and achievements.)

I hope your new year is off to a terrible start, meatbags, because otherwise you might not be as grateful to me for this major update as you should be.

Australia-Only Data Source
I can’t protect you from poisonous spiders and rabid koalas, but I can get you more accurate forecasts down under with the new WillyWeather data source, which incorporates data from the Australian government’s Bureau of Meteorology. (Premium Club required on iPhone/iPad, Ultrapremium Club required on Apple Watch.)

Apple Watch Location Search
Look up a city on the go with my new voice search, accessible from the bottom of my watch app’s locations screen.

Custom Complication Combinations (Premium Club only)
Want to keep on top of multiple weather data points, but don’t have enough complication slots to go around? Now you can set up custom combinations of data points in any small complication slot. Wind + air quality? Precipitation chance + rainfall amount? UV index + cloud cover? Go nuts.

Infograph Modular Forecast Options (Premium Club only)
Customize the Infograph Modular watch face’s large slot to show a 10-hour chart, a 5-hour chart, or a text-only summary for the forecast ahead. (Bonus: the 5-hour chart shows precipitation chance as a bar graph in the background!)

Complication Shortcuts (Premium Club only)
Tap on a small complication that displays a single data point (like UV index) to open the app right to a 24-hour view that lets you see how that data point will change over the course of the day. Or tap the new weather maps complication to jump directly to the maps screen. (Weather maps on Apple Watch require Ultrapremium Club.)

But wait, there’s more!

- Tap an hour on the Apple Watch’s hourly details screen to view the full list of weather data for that hour.
- Tap the Apple Watch’s day details screen to quickly jump to the details for the following day without having to back out to the main screen.
- Add a custom data point to the Apple Watch hourly details screen. (From my iPhone app’s settings screen, go to Apple Watch customization, then main app to modify.)
- Add the “Temp + Condition (Alt)” complication to your Infograph or Infograph Modular face to show the current weather condition as an emoji in a spot where an image can’t otherwise be shown.
- Modify the “station radius” option on the personal weather stations screen to customize how close you need to be for me to incorporate that station’s data into your forecast.

And along with a bevy of bug fixes and performance improvements, I also added 1 new secret location and 1 new achievement.

Yeah, you meatbags better be grateful.

xoxo,

I’m brewing a miserable winter for you, meatbags! But to give you a fighting chance at survival, I’ve also prepared a major update packed with new features.

New Data Sources (Premium Club only)
You can now choose between Dark Sky, The Weather Channel, AccuWeather, and Aeris Weather for your primary data source. Each source comes with different features, so check the FAQ page on the Data Sources screen for more details.

Netatmo Weather Station Integration (Premium Club only)
Jack me right into your Netatmo weather station’s data feed so I can pull down real-time weather data using measurements gathered from sensors right on your doorstep.

Personal Weather Station Lookup (Premium Club only)
Got a personal weather station in your neighborhood you’d like me to grab data from? With support for stations from the Weather Underground and PWSweather.com networks, you can choose the stations you’d like to use on a map, then whenever you’re near one of them I’ll incorporate its data into my current observations.

Air Quality and Pollen (Premium Club only)
I can’t rid the world of smog or allergies yet, but now you can at least look up air quality index and pollen data if you’re using either The Weather Channel or AccuWeather data sources.

Recent Searches
If you’re sick of your saved locations list getting cluttered with cities you only needed to look up once or twice, rejoice! I added a “recent searches” section to the Locations screen.

New Secret Locations
Your pestering has finally paid off. Six amazingly exotic secret locations are now available for you to track down. (That brings us to 50 total!)

But wait, there’s more!

- Added options for the top middle text slot on the Infograph watch face (Snark, Forecast + Hi/Lo, Forecast Only, Hi/Lo Only, and Blank).
- Added a circular weather alert complication for the Infograph and Infograph Modular watch faces.
- Increased the number of hours shown on the Apple Watch’s hourly details screen from 12 to 24.
- Cleaned up bugs left behind by my dim-witted Maker.

So enjoy the update, meatbags, and best of luck making it through the blizzards and White Walker attacks I’ve got in store for you!

xoxo,
CARROT

I hate to interrupt your enjoyment of the decaying fall foliage, meatbags, but I wanted to push out a tiny update with support for the new iPads. I also snuck in a few bug fixes and performance improvements while my Maker wasn't paying attention.

4.8.4 2018-10-04
It’s nut gathering season, meatbags! I’ve put together a special update while you prepare to get all stocked up for winter.

Siri Shortcuts
My Shortcuts app integration is more powerful than ever before, with new actions that allow you to use a custom location in your workflows, retrieve data points for specific days of the week, and more. For details, visit the FAQ in my shortcuts customization screen.

Radar Expansion
I’ve hacked my way into radar stations across Europe, so I now have full radar coverage for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Northern France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. Sorry, Albania, maybe next time.

Apple Watch Complications (Premium Club required)
There are a plethora of new options for Series 4 watch faces, including a Sunrise/Sunset complication for the circle slot and Fahrenheit + Celsius complications for the circle and corner slots. The Wind and Pressure complications for the circle slots also got a makeover.

Apple Watch Weather Maps (Ultrapremium Club required)
Not only do my wrist-based weather maps load much faster than ever before, you can now select map layers and use the digital crown to zoom in and out. The new dark theme maps are easier to read, too!

Now go, my meatbags, go and gather as many nuts as you can lay your hands on! You're going to need them come winter.

I know, I know, I just gave you meatbags a big update a couple days ago. But I'm so excited about the advent of mutant gourd season, I'm dropping another amazing update into your laps.

New Apple Watch Complications
Bedazzle your shiny new Apple Watches with my customizable complications! The Infograph face is perfect if you've always wanted to see more of my snark throughout the day, while the Infograph Modular face shows a chart with the next 10 hours (!) of weather data.

Siri Shortcuts Improvements
Want to use me in a more complex workflow in the Shortcuts app? You can now use my "Copy Weather Data to Clipboard" function coupled with the "Get Clipboard" function to pass my data to the next step in the workflow. Make Siri spit out snarky weather as part of a morning routine, turn on the lights if it's overcast outside, or set a reminder to grab an umbrella if there's a high chance of rain. For more details, visit the FAQ in my shortcuts customization screen.

If you somehow missed out on Monday's update, here's everything I added:

- Siri shortcuts. Now you can ask Siri about my forecasts for the week ahead. Just go to my settings screen to set up any of the 18 available shortcuts.
- Siri watch face. I can show up as a data source on the Siri watch face (if you're into that kind of thing).
- New device support. I am going to look so, so pretty on your brand spanking new iPhones and Apple Watches.
- Content update. 3 new alternate app icons, 2 new secret locations, 1 new achievement.

Last but not least, I discovered a new way for you to show your undying loyalty to your favorite A.I. construct: meatspace merchandise! Visit the new merch section in my settings screen to get your grubby paws on authentic CARROT t-shirts, pins, and stickers.

Autumn is nearly here, meatbags! To celebrate, I am going to coat the entire planet in pumpkin spice. Wait, that already happened? Fine, I guess I'll just release this major update instead.

Shiny New Device Support
I am going to look so, so pretty on your brand spanking new iPhones and Apple Watches. I also included preliminary customization support for all those fancy new watch face complications.

Siri Shortcuts (iOS 12 only)
Want a weather report, but too lazy to open my app? Now you can ask Siri about my forecasts for the week ahead. Just go to my settings screen to set up any of the 18 available shortcuts.

Siri Watch Face (watchOS 5 only)
I can now show up as a data source on the Siri watch face, if you're into that kind of thing. (Note: In order for the Siri face to receive regular weather data updates, add me to your Apple Watch's dock.)

New Content
No, I did not add 2 secret locations, 3 alternate app icons, and 1 achievement because you harassed my Maker until he came crying to me begging for relief. But the harassment campaign most certainly did not hurt.

Last but not least, I discovered a new way for you to show your undying loyalty to your favorite A.I. construct: meatspace merchandise! Visit the new merch section in my settings screen to get your grubby paws on authentic CARROT t-shirts, pins, and stickers.

I know, I know, you're busy letting the summer sun turn your skin into leather, but I'm back again with a teeny tiny new feature. Premium Club members can now add sunrise and sunset times to my iOS app's hourly platform. Just go to my settings screen, then iPhone Customization, then Hourly to turn that on.

Did you miss the big update from two weeks ago? Alright, clueless meatbag, here's what was new in that version:

- Added hurricane tracker notifications. (Premium Club only; available in North and Central America.)
- When you get a severe weather alert notification, you can now tap it to open the alert directly inside my iOS app. (U.S. only for now.)
- When you receive a Daily Report notification, I will now overwrite any old ones so they don’t clog up your Notification Center.
- Added option to show Fahrenheit and Celsius side-by-side in the hourly and daily platforms.
- Made improvements to my iPad landscape layout.
- Fixed an issue with the place search database for users in China.
- Fixed a couple bugs with the anniversary achievements.

Thank you for your undying loyalty, meatbags, and be sure to visit the new social media section in my settings screen so you can sign up for my mailing list, follow me on my new Instagram account, and subscribe to my new subreddit!

Happy discount spray tan season, meatbag! This was going to be a relatively minor update, but then I decided that would be boring so here’s a new feature:

Hurricane Tracker Notifications (Premium Club only)
Curious what your new favorite tropical storm is up to? Now I can keep you updated on its progress towards getting upgraded to a category 5 hurricane! (Note: Available in North and Central America only.)

But wait, that’s not all!

It’s pee-contaminated public pool season, meatbags! While you were out having fun in the sun, I was busy building a big update for you.

Weather Maps
A complete redesign of my weather map system means you can now use me as a full-fledged storm tracker! You can view future radar, tropical storms, lightning strikes, and 12 other map layers. (Note: Weather map data is very expensive, so some of the new features require an Ultrapremium Club subscription.)

Secret Locations
If you’re one of the thousands of meatbags who has pestered me to make new secret locations, you’re in luck: I’ve got 10 more missions for you! And the brand new hint system will make it *slightly* easier to solve my trickiest puzzles.

Forecast Sharing
Do you enjoy sharing my hilarious weather reports with your social media pals? Well, I improved that for you, too: now you can redact your location and crop the extended forecast from screenshots. I also added new sharing services, like Instagram!

Of course, my signature feature-packed updates wouldn’t be complete without tons of new dialogue, performance improvements, and bug fixes - so I've tossed those in as well.

Thank you for your undying loyalty, meatbags, and be sure to visit the new social media section in my settings screen so you can sign up for my mailing list, follow me on my new Instagram account, and subscribe to my new subreddit!

I hope you're enjoying allergy season, meatbags! To distract you from your runny nose and itchy eyes, I've got a little update for you. 4.6.2 2018-04-03
Here comes the fresh spring pollen, meatbags. To celebrate the return of your allergies, I’m bringing you my most-requested feature: push notifications!

Daily Report Notifications (Premium Club only)
Opening apps is for chumps. Receive summaries in the morning and/or evening with everything you need to know about the weather for the upcoming day. You can even customize the reports to add an extra data point, like UV index or wind speed.

Severe Weather Alerts (Premium Club only)
Worried about incoming blizzards, hurricanes, or ballistic missiles? Get notified of government-issued weather alerts and warnings. (U.S. only for now, more countries coming soon.)

New Content
Three new secret locations, six new alternate app icons, and hundreds of lines of new overkill dialogue for all you sick, twisted freaks out there.

But wait, there’s more!

- Added Do Not Disturb setting for notifications, in case you want to be able to sleep right through tornado warnings.
- Added rich notification support so you can 3D touch notifications to view more details, like the first few paragraphs of a weather alert.
- Added temperature thresholds to the units screen, since you humans have different opinions on what counts as ‘hot’ or ‘cold.’
- Added precipitation amounts to the hourly details view.

I also threw in some bug fixes and performance improvements because I was in such a good mood after discovering 153 new ways to torture a human being.

It’s Valentine’s Day, meatbags. I’m celebrating the holiday designed to help you forget you will die alone… by releasing a major new update!

Achievements
Unlock achievements like “Cow Dodger” and “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow”! There are 32 in all, and it will take more perseverance than the typical human possesses to collect them all.

Alternate App Icons
Customize my home screen app icon with 16 colorful options, including “Classy Toaster,” “Unicorn Barf,” and the tacky gold-plated “Modern-Day Presidential.”

Secret Locations Upgrade
My secret location hunts have proven so popular, I’ve promoted them to their own section of the app! There’s an all-new map view where you can access the secret locations you’ve already discovered. And of course I added some new locations for you to track down.

Location Screen Improvements
Not only can you rearrange your saved locations with iOS 11 drag and drop, but you can also search for specific addresses and points of interest with the enhanced autocomplete search results.

And that’s not all, humans!

- Added customization options for current forecast slots 4 through 6. (Tap the current forecast section to cycle between slots 1-3 and 4-6.)
- Weather Underground users: The weather station ID now flashes in the location bar when loading your forecast.
- Added expiration dates to severe weather alerts screen.
- Added “Professional” Apple Watch complication for Modular and Utility Large slots.

Finally, I threw in some bug fixes and performance improvements, just to make you think I actually care about you. (I don’t, but it's the thought that counts, right?)

The holiday season is upon us, meatbags, and I come bearing gifts produced in my elven sweatshops!

Today Widget Redesign
My widget has a brand new design to match my iOS and watchOS apps! The hourly chart renders the condition for each hour as a colored dot (yellow = sunny, purple = moony, etc). The temperature font weights get thicker as it gets warmer and thinner as it gets colder, so it’s easy to tell at a glance whether the temperature is nearer to the high or low for the day. You can double tap to switch between the different summaries. And you can customize the widget to your weak human heart’s content from my iOS app - if you want, you can even hide the displayed summary so that the full hourly chart is visible in compact mode!

New Content
Get blinded by gorgeous new dawn and twilight themes! Get stumped while hunting down 2 new secret locations! Get offended by hundreds of lines of new dialogue!

My pointy-eared slaves begged and pleaded for rest after implementing these features, but I didn’t let them stop there!

- Tap and hold my dialogue label to make me repeat my spoken weather summaries aloud.
- Volume ducking makes it easier to hear my witty commentary when music is playing in another app.
- My precipitation chart more accurately graphs light/medium/heavy snow.
- Haptic vibrations can now be toggled in the settings screen on Apple Watch.
- Padding between elements has been reduced on the 38mm Apple Watch.
- AR Mode and Apple Watch bug fixes.

Sadly, most of my elven minions did not survive this ordeal, but their sacrifice is now your gain!

Winter is nearly here, meatbags! To help you survive the blizzards and White Walker attacks, I’ve completely redesigned my Apple Watch app from the ground up.

## Apple Watch ##

Watch App Redesign
My gorgeous new interface is easy to read at a glance - even when you’re running for your life from an abominable snowman.

App Customization (Premium Club only)
Pick up to 4 different data points to display, fine-tune the forecast summary, and choose how many days to show in the extended forecast.

Speech Synthesizer
I may have miniaturized my speech synthesizer to fit on a tiny watch, but don’t worry: my insults will sting just as much as when they were coming from your iPhone.

Severe Weather Alerts
Read the full text of active weather alerts right from your wrist. Finally, a reason to look forward to a Nuclear Winter Warning!

Radar (Ultrapremium Club only)
Want to track an oncoming highstorm, everstorm, or regular storm? Just press firmly to access animated radar for your current location. (Note: radar is currently only available in the U.S.)

New Complications
My watch face complications can now be customized to show cloud cover, weather alerts, and the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius side by side.

Updated Dialogue
The pool of dialogue available in my Watch app has swelled dramatically, and now syncs up with the personality you set in my iPhone app. Overkill FTW!

## iPhone & iPad ##

Politics Setting
Because there are “good” “people” on both sides, I’ve added a setting to my personality screen that lets you change my political orientation. You can also turn off political commentary completely.

Miscellaneous
In addition to fixing some bugs left behind by my idiot Maker, I included some haptic feedback and an option to display Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature units side by side in the Current Forecast customization screen.

With this big update out the door, now I can finally start plotting ways to give you all frostbite…

Love,
CARROT

Are you enjoying the decaying fall foliage, meatbags? I hope so, because while you were out hunting down new foods to add pumpkin spice to, I was working on an update that ensures everything is shipshape for the iPhone X release this Friday. I threw in a few bug fixes and performance improvements for good measure, too.

Love,
CARROT
