Dam It, Beaver!

Damtown was a peaceful, picturesque, community nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. For several generations the residents of Damtown enjoyed a blissful existence, happily living out their days in the idyllic valley. But trouble lurked.

Richard Beaverton was the oldest - and least liked - member of the town. His heart was hardened by time, hard work, war, and lost love. He greeted well wishers with curses and onlookers with scorn, but his deepest disgust was reserved for the Dam kids. They’d never known hardships, and despite his warnings they’d never planned for any, either.

Sadly for Damtown, Dick's rantings about complacency were truer than even he imagined. The dam protecting the town was collapsing after years of neglect and decay, rotting away because of poor craftsmanship and the passage of time.

On a beautiful fall day, during one of his many solitary walks, Richard Beaverton discovered this dam disaster. The long ignored dam was disintegrating, and there was no time to warn the town. He must repair the dam himself and save the town from imminent death and destruction. He must deliver those that mocked him from this peril.

Or maybe not. Maybe he should let them fix their own dam problems.
