Wähle einfach die gewünschten Städte, Regionen, oder sogar ganze Länder aus. Mit deren Download stehen sie auch ohne Internetverbindung zur Verfügung - mit kompletten Infos von interessanten Plätzen und Reiseführer (mit zusätzlichem Download).
Für diese Funktionen gebrauchen wir öffentliche Daten von openstreetmap.org, naturalearthdata.com, geonames.org, wikivoyage.org und wikipedia.org komprimieren und packen sie in ein für mobile Geräte optimiertes Format. PocketEarth bildet die Vektorkarten in Echtzeit mit Hilfe unserem OpenGL ES basiertem MagikEngine ab. Ungleich anderer Karten-Programme, die nur Bilder (Kartenkacheln) herunterladen, gibt dies uns den Vorteil, dass unsere Karten nur einen Bruchteil derer Größe besitzen. Zusätzlich ist so eine bessere Kontrolle der Kartenansicht mit verschieden Kartendarstellungen und Datenebenen möglich.
