About Support Right

As support staff you may have to make difficult decisions when supporting the person you work with. This smartphone application will help you to think about a person's Human Rights when you're making decisions about risky or challenging behaviour. Human Rights are the rights ALL people are entitled to.

The Support Right App was developed by Claire Dowling from Mersey Care NHS Trust, Lyndsey Holt and Beth Greenhill, from Mersey Care NHS Trust/University of Liverpool and Bethan Roberts from Lancaster University.

The app was designed in partnership with Red Ninja Studios, the British Institute of Human Rights and support workers from across Liverpool.

The Support Right app was funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

We would like to thank Transition Care, Alternative Futures and Sophie Howes from the British Institute of Human Rights for their input and guidance with the project.

We are keen to revise and develop the app further and would welcome your feedback (appfeedback@merseycare.nhs.uk). We are hoping to develop a sister app for use directly by people with learning disabilities.
