Updated Home Screen – UPMC EMS Navigator v3.0 is introducing new functionality that was suggested by user feedback. These functions include the “EMS Imaging” and “Tools” icons found on the home screen. These enhancements serve to make the experience of using this application even more user-friendly and faster to navigate. This update also includes more reference tools, and new interactive burn chart calculators.
EMS Imaging - UPMC EMS Navigator v3.0 enables registered users to capture and send an EKG photo to the Medic Command Center for UPMC-specific hospitals quickly and easily. This brand new functionality will conveniently send a photo of a EKG printout to the UPMC Medic Command Center that will allow for greater pre-emergency arrival coordination and preparation for life-saving medical treatment (NOTE: All standard procedural protocols must be followed and completed to best coordinate patient arrival and care).
To activate this added functionality, qualified users will be required to complete a one-time registration form within the “EMS Imaging” icon, allowing their smartphones to easily communicate with the Medic Command Center. If you have already registered your device for the “Request Helicopter” functionality, you will not need to register again.
Interactive Burn Chart Calculators – UPMC EMS Navigator v3.0 includes the first of several interactive calculators to be used in the field. In this version, the adult and pediatric burn calculators have been created, enabling users to instantly calculate the total anterior and posterior burn score of a patient.
Additional reference and medication information have been added as well.
• Pediatric Reference Card
• Poison Reference Card
• Enhanced Stroke Reference Card
All Pennsylvania Hospitals are now available and contain directional and contact information.
