About Disconnected Interactive Content Explorer (DICE)

The Disconnected Interactive Content Explorer (DICE) is an app that allows users to load interactive content generated in HTML, CSS, and Javascript to a mobile device so the device can display interactive content without a network connection.

DICE can be used by disaster response personnel, urban search-and-rescue teams, and others that need interactive content to assist with their tasks but the cell towers may be down. No content is included in the app. It must be loaded. The app merely is a container that can parse and display interactive content on a disconnected device.

The DICE App was developed at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in collaboration with BIT Systems. The government has "unlimited rights" and is releasing this software to increase the impact of government investments by providing developers with the opportunity to take things in new directions. The software use, modification, and distribution rights are stipulated within the MIT license.

What's New in the Latest Version 1.3

Old Versions
This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

GeoPackage support has been added to the map view. GeoPackages can also be used in reports in place of XYZ tiles for offline maps. See the example content for more details on how to incorporate GeoPackages in your content.

In this release, we are working to untether you from iTunes and make managing reports a bit easier when you are on the go.

If you copy a link to a report from an email or a webpage and open DICE, the app will offer to download it for you.

You can now delete reports from the list view by swiping, or in the tile view by long pressing on a report.

If you have an email account set up in the default Mail app, when you export your points from a report, they will be added to an email as an attachment for you automatically. If you decide not to send the email, your points are sill accessible by plugging in your device into a computer and copying them from the Document Sharing in iTunes.
