The brand-new EE ToolKit is here! I am very happy to present yet again a very big update with 20 great new tools, great improvements and feature additions. Here is the summary:

This is the brand-new EE ToolKit! This time I am proud to present the long-awaited Dark Mode. Easily configurable in the settings menu, this new UI lets the EE ToolKit shine in a whole new light.

Ω new Flashlight Stroboscope! This tool allows you to control the flashlight of your device so you can use it just like a stroboscope. Just define a custom τ-on and τ-off time and tap on the power button to activate.

Ω new Ceramic Capacitor Codes Tool: X7R, Y5V, NP0, etc. A new tool in the RLC section about capacitor groups and application classes.

Ω extended the Single Board Computers tool:
• 7 additional Arduino Boards (Linino One, MKR FOX 1200, MKR GSM 1400, MKR Vidor 4000, MKR WAN 1300, MKR WiFi 1010, Yun Rev 2).

The brand-new EE ToolKit is here! Yet again the update is a very big one and I am proud to announce lots of new tools, improvements and feature additions to you! I have put a lot of hard work into this update and I really hope you will like it as much as I do!

Ω new tool for Single Board Computers which provides a very nicely structured navigation through the majority of currently available boards (in total 114 different boards!!!). Including pinout descriptions, getting started, schematics, documentation, manuals, code examples, etc.

Ω extended the Voltage Divider Calculator. This tool now consists of two different tools: a default and an extended version. The new extended version of this tool requires three values and from these three, it calculates the missing fourth. Any combination is allowed. Please make sure that you don't enter invalid values, like Vout being higher than Vin, which should never be the case (the tool shows invalid input combinations, nevertheless).

Ω global asset optimizations, storage management. Now the App provides even more content but needs much less space on your device.

New File Manager! Simply save and load your calculations!

The EE ToolKit now features an integrated File Manager. For every tool there is now the option to save as many calculations as you want to and re-load them at any later point in time. Just tap on the folder icon in the sidebar menu and the browser will appear. After saving, the data is stored locally in the App and also synced in iCloud, so it even transfers to your other devices running the same App.

Like for the universal build of the EE ToolKit App (that's the free version with In-App purchase to PRO), you can save a calculation on your iPhone and later on open the same calculation on your iPad or vice-versa.

Or if you run the 'EE ToolKit for iPhone' version on your iPhone and on an iPod Touch, these two will sync all saved calculation data. But please note that this feature is tied to your iCloud account, your Apple-ID. You cannot transfer calculation data between different iCloud accounts!

Editing is also straightforward. In the File Manager, just swipe left on a row and you will be given the option to rename a calculation, or to delete it.

Other Changes:

• iPad menu structure changed (now with sidebar just like on iPhone)

NEW FEATURES, NEW TOOLS, TONS OF GREAT IMPROVEMENTS!

Ω New resistor, capacitor, inductor color code picker tools! Now you can even choose from two pickers, the table picker and a manual configuration using a scroll-through table.

Ω New waveform scrolling tool! The Frequency section has been extended with a very nice tool that allows scrolling through different waveforms. The current frequency or period is shown as well as Vp and Vpp.

Ω Improved LED Tools with recommended resistor from various E Series. Now the next higher resistor value is used for the full calculation to provide an even more useful result for your example of use.

Ω New features for the Function Generator:
• Fully customizable phase setting: -180° - 180° for both channels using sliders and buttons for fixed values (-180, -90, 0, 90, 180).
• Soft-Start/Soft-Mute: Starting and stopping of playback now works very smoothly with a soft-start or soft-mute ramping (attack/decay), respectively. With that addition, there are no more pops or clicks when starting or stopping playback of tones.
• New menu so you can enter the volume directly (not just via the volume slider like before). The selectable range is either 0-100 or -60dB to 0dB if you prefer using dB entry. The maximum volume is determined by the respective value configured on the Settings page. Press on the “Master Volume” button to activate!
• New Timed Playback feature: set a completely customizable timer (hours:minuts:seconds) for exact timing of your playback. Whenever active, playback will stop after the timer has counted down to zero.
• Added Siren Mode for Sweep Repeat setting.
• Change waveforms on the fly: now playback continues even if you change the waveform type while playback is already active.
• Check if Mono Audio is enabled on your iDevice.

Ω New PCB Via RLC tool to provide an approximation of the total resistance, capacitance and inductance of a typical PCB through-hole Via.

Ω New PCB plane LC tool to calculate the capacitance and the inductance of a specific plane on a Printed Circuit Board.

Now you can browse and access your datasheets, documents, measurements, schematics, etc. directly from your Dropbox or iCloud account. Built right into the EE ToolKit. Simple, direct access.

I am also introducing a new Formula-Search Tool. Now you can search the complete formula database of the EE ToolKit. A summary view shows the formula and the related schematics (if available) and a direct link to the respective tool. Jump right from the formula into the calculation!

I am also happy to present a completely new toolset all around examples and applications around Sequential Logic circuits. Eight new tools are available in this cluster, which help you to simulate, analyze and understand sequential logic components and circuits. These new tools have really turned out very great!

The brand-new EE ToolKit Pro for iPhone and iPad is here! Yet again I have spared no efforts and implemented a great amount of new features and this time also settings. You can now configure between the American style or the European IEC resistor symbol type. You can even set V or U as your preferred voltage character. And this works for all the schematic drawings and the formulas all over the App!

In order to make that happen I had to re-design all the graphics and at the same time, of course, I improved them as well. I really hope you like the new look as much as I do.

I am also introducing a brand new Favorites page! Each tool or calculator can now be selected as Favorite and it will show up in the Favorite page. This provides a new and very quick access to your most favorite tools. The order of the Favorites can be rearranged, if required.

A Lot of new tools have been added and the existing ones have been improved. One of the new tools that clearly stands out is the new resistor circuit recommender. So, imagine you need a 1% resistor value but you have only E6 or E12 values available. Let's say you need 35.7Ω and you need it now. No time to order it. So, ... just ask the tool! No manual calculation required!

The LED Tools have been completely re-designed. There is now a picker, which lets you pick the typical forward voltage for different LED type colors. Three more tools have been added. One of them is an application example with the TI TPS61165 where you can control the brightness of a LED display backlight with a PWM. This is both great for understanding PWM in general and for trying it in a real application like in this backlight control.

- A new Phase-Out setting is now available. Configure the phase out (phase shift of 180 degrees) for each channel individually. Note that once phase out is activated for a channel, the setting is also visible on the main frequency generator and the sweep page (red text). Phase Out is not available on the Noise page!

This version fixes a minor bug related to the calculation of the next higher E Series values for a given input or result value. It also fixes an iOS 7 instability issue of the "C Tool" in the RLC section.

The brand-new Electronics Engineering ToolKit is here! Now as a universal app for iPhone and iPad! The app has now gained something so great and amazing, I trust you will like it as much as I do. I have implemented an amazingly great multi-functional keyboard! Input of values with units, E Series, tolerances, slider ranges etc. was never easier! A multi-functional keyboard like that is really perfect for an engineering tool like the EE ToolKit! Try it yourself!

In order to make this happen I had to change a lot under the hood and implement many parts of the app from the ground up. But it was totally worth it. In addition also the conversion of units for the calculated results is now more simple and convenient than ever.

Units for calculated results are set to "Auto"-convert per default. This means, if the value of a resistor is for instance 47000Ω, the tool automatically converts it to 47kΩ. This can of course be configured completely flexible.

I have re-structured, graphically improved, enhanced the UI and on top of this, added lots of new features:

Ω complete update of the component Color Codes:
- added color picker to the resistor, capacitor and inductor color codes.

Speed: I decided to throw out all View animations in favor of a much speedier and more responsive usability. When quickly navigating through the views, it was possible that with earlier versions of the App, some button pressed got lost. The button had to be pressed twice. This is not the case anymore. Now the App reacts much faster and also navigating feels much faster.
