喜憨兒基金會是由一群心智障礙者的家長所組成，以心智障礙者的終生照顧、終生教育為核心。
喜憨兒基金會自1995年成立，以「為心智障礙者開創生命的尊嚴與生存的喜悅」為使命，用愛與關懷化解障礙，啟發憨兒的潛能回歸社會主流，為心智障礙者改造生命。而「終生教育、終生照顧」為其願景，期望提供心智障礙者的終生教育及在社區中獲得終生照顧。
