Dans un futur lointain, les seuls êtres sensibles encore présents sur terre sont les robots.
Ils constituent les derniers vestiges de l’âme humaine.
Malgré tout, le genre humain n’est pas mort.
Car il existe une technologie capable de transférer les souvenirs dans ces robots.
Mais à cause d’une capacité mémoire limitée, les nouveaux souvenirs remplacent peu à peu les anciens.
Pour éviter que les émotions présentes dans les souvenirs humains ne disparaissent à jamais, les robots transforment ces émotions en notes de musique et les stockent précieusement dans un lieu appelé Cytus.
Les robots utilisent ces chansons pour ressentir les émotions humaines et se laisser aller à rêver qu’une âme existe en chacun d’eux...
