About LA Wallet
LA Wallet will allow you to keep a digital representation of your current Louisiana-issued state ID or driver's license. The app will generate a unique image that is 100% Legal for driving purposes per Louisiana law of Act 625 of the 2016 session and approved by the Louisiana ATC for age-restricted purchases at various local restaurants, bars, and retail outlets. Once a user activates their current, valid license in LA Wallet, the digital driver’s license is valid for the life of the user’s current identity credential issuance. When the user’s physical license expires, they must renew their license with the OMV or through the LA Wallet app, if eligible. Additionally, LA Wallet offers the paid service VerifyYou™ Pro, an age-verification tool that helps keep businesses ATC compliant when offering home delivery of age-restricted goods.

In coordination with Louisiana State Police, LA Wallet’s latest update allows Louisiana residents to legally display a digital copy of their Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit. More information on this can be found on the LA Wallet social media pages.

LA Wallet’s latest update includes a redesigned SMART Health Card that makes it even easier to show your vaccine status with a more user-friendly layout, and the Share button makes it easy to add your Vaccination Record to Apple Health or CommonPass.
LDWF Users can now view their tags in LA Wallet. With the tap of a button, you can begin to validate your tags, either by phone, text (if enrolled in Text-to-Tag), or online. Once validated, the confirmation number will display with the tag as proof that you reported that tag.
Additional updates include support for Direct Verification Links for Verify You Pro companies, a menu link for Organ Donor Registration, support for displaying Autism and Needs Accommodation indicators on the driver’s licenses, and other bug fixes.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) licenses are coming to LA Wallet! Starting October 18, 2021, you will be able to add your Louisiana hunting and fishing licenses easily by tapping the credential in the card stack on our newly re-designed homepage.
LA Wallet’s new homepage now displays a card stack for all your credentials available in LA Wallet, including your Louisiana Digital Driver’s License or State ID, LDWF Credentials (coming October 2021), and your SMART Health Card.
Additionally, LA Wallet’s SMART Health Card now has a button to refresh the SMART Health Card to retrieve any recent vaccinations or boosters that are available for you. You can share your SMART Health Card to CommonPass, Apple Health, or other health apps that support SMART Health Cards. Users who have trouble retrieving their vaccination records from the Louisiana Department of Health can now tap Health Card Assistance in the menu to get support with locating your information.

LA Wallet in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health is now able to display certain COVID-19 information with your explicit approval. LA Wallet can display your COVID-19 vaccination status through a secure and confidential relationship with the Louisiana Department of Health. By allowing LA Wallet to display your vaccination status, for example, you could enter venues that are allowed to open to increased or full occupancy. The venues could include restaurants, stadiums, offices, and other capacity-limited spaces.

The newest LA Wallet update expands functionality of VerifyYou™, the innovative identity verification system, with VerifyYou™ Remote. VerifyYou™ Remote offers businesses and organizations a secure option for remotely verifying an individual’s identity using their state-issued credential. The system generates a unique code through LA Wallet and the individual is prompted to verify their identity with the code or dismiss the verification request. Identity verification is securely confirmed by the Louisiana OMV.
