About Pat & Rub: a coordination game
Can you pat your head and rub your belly at the same time? Increase your coordination in this simple but challenging game. The two handed motions help brain development, drummers, pianists, guitarists, and anyone who enjoys a unique coordination challenge.
Find out just how coordinated you are by matching the displayed patterns with your hands. You’ll be surprised how challenging these simple tasks can be and how quickly you can improve your motor skills. Test and improve your hand-eye coordination. Great challenge for your friends and family.
The game play is simple, just match the pattern with your two hands. Try it and see how challenging this simple task can be.
The idea for this app came from research related to bimanual (i.e., two handed) motions. The REEDlab at the University of South Florida has been examining how bimanual motions can be used to train people to become more coordinated and for stroke rehabilitation. Bimanual motions are also vital for brain development, which is one of the reasons why it is important for babies to crawl – the alternating hand motions teach the two sides of the brain to work together. Similarly, in stroke rehabilitation, these motions help retrain the brain by using the healthy side motions to guide the impaired side motions. So, using this app can be both fun and beneficial to your coordination.
