About TapInOut
Here at PeopleHR, we understand that there are many different business cultures throughout our customer base. With this, we require a range of options that you can choose from to manage your employee's time and attendance.
Our TapInOut app represents an effortless way to increase accuracy and productivity by eliminating the frustrations of a manual time and attendance process.
TapInOut allows employees to type in a six-digit code on an Apple device that is placed in a common area. Typing in the code will allow employees to clock IN or OUT.
How does it work?
Unlike other complicated time clock-in apps, TapInOut will give you the option to install a company iPad near the entrance/exit of your building/office and download the app from the App Store.
All employees would have their own unique 6-digit code - when they enter or exit the building, they would simply tap in their code which would sign them in or out. This will log a timesheet on their Planner.

1. When the access code is typed the app will now only show the appropriate option, i.e. in or out, depending upon whether you have clocked in or out before.
2. The regeneration option has been simplified on the menu.
3. Regenerating codes will not overwrite existing codes.
3. The app will refresh the codes from the People system at around 23:00 each evening, so if you have added new employees and generated codes on the master device all slave devices will update automatically.

In this release we've overhauled the code mechanism. Now on the first IPHONE/IPAD enter the API key and the login details and then generate the codes. On other devices all you need to do is enter the API key leave the email address and password blank, these will retrieve the codes from a central source. The ID's are now stored on the employee record in the employment section within the Time & Attendance ID field, you can alter them here.

We've updated the algorithm that generates codes so it does not get impacted by new leavers or changes to the employee ID. You will need to re-generate codes for all your employees and send them out as they will be different from the current code.

This new release addresses a particular issue with leavers. Previously if you generated codes and then there was a leaver and you then re-generated codes, the codes would change for existing employees, now they won't. However in order to fix this issue we've had to change the code generation algorithm. We recommend that you re-generate the codes and email them out to employees after installing this update on all your devices. Any question please email customerservices@peoplehr.com

In this version of the program we’ve introduced a reporting option. Once you log in as an administrator you will see a new option called “Reports”. Select this option and you will see the option for Report Settings, Annual Leave, Total Hours and Absence Report.
Select the Report Settings to set the dates for reports.
When the reports are run a message will appear saying report completed. This will then email you with the CSV list of data. You can then save this as a .TXT or .CSV file and use it with excel.
