About Test Tones

Test Tones is an audio/visual artwork by Future Love Hangover. It is a companion piece for the visual album of the same name. Born out of several years of experimentation and an attempt to create a time machine, these particular patterns have been designed specifically to generate alpha brain waves and provide the user with a sense of focused calm, similar to that found through meditation.

It is designed not only for artistic and recreational use but also to provide an alternative to social media when using your phone in idle moments. Social Media addiction is an increasingly problematic phenomenon with a range of documented social and psychological impacts. This app is designed to be used in replacement of aimlessly scrolling through social media and in doing so produce an experience that is positive for the users mental state.
