About Freerice
Freerice is a fun and educational trivia game that lets you make a difference and get smarter — just by playing. With dozens of categories — from English vocabulary to famous paintings — you can quiz yourself on your favorite subject, and generate money to support the World Food Programme at the same time.
Here's how it works: every question you answer correctly in Freerice helps you generate the cash equivalent of 10 grains of rice. This financial payment goes to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to support its life saving work to end hunger around the world. This money is used for many types of assistance — not just rice — depending on where needs are greatest.
100% of all funds generated on Freerice go to the World Food Programme, and 93.5% of every payment received by the World Food Programme goes directly to helping children and their families. Freerice does not earn or keep any money it raises.

Challenges! You can now take part in global challenges along with other players from around the world. Open the menu and tap on "challenges" to see which ones are active now. We've added new notifications & announcements to this version. You can see them in the "activity feed" section of the menu. We've also removed Facebook Login from this version, and provided steps for you to migrate your account to a normal login.

We've made some behind-the-scenes tweaks, added accessibility features to the game, and (only temporarily) will be reducing all rice scores from 10 per right answer to 5 per right answer until the ad market improves and we're able to raise enough to cover 10 grains per question again.
