Howl: Local, Relevant, Urgent

No spam. No political rants. No trolls. No items for sale. Howl is a location-based community app that doesn’t waste your time. It connects you to what's important: local, relevant, and urgent content - helping neighbors communicate when it matters. With our proprietary upvote/downvote feature, our users are encouraged to upvote positive, helpful content so more neighbors see that information, and downvote unhelpful content.


LOCAL: On Howl’s interactive map, neighbors share and engage with localized content close to them or their home. On other platforms, local content gets lost in the excess of unwieldy neighborhood groups. Howl connects its users with real neighbors living on the same street via their Street Group, as well as others in their town through their larger Town Group. Neighbors have the option to include an exact location in their posts, which will appear on the Howl interactive map and be far more helpful than any neighborhood watch.


RELEVANT: For those who want to engage with their community beyond their Street and Town, neighbors can join groups based on their interests, and start new groups as well. Instead of allowing algorithms to dictate what is important to a community, Howl gives its users the power to vote. Neighbors are encouraged to upvote positive, helpful content so it’s more visible, while downvoting unhelpful content.


URGENT: Not all content is created equal. Some messages are time-sensitive and carry more weight than others. Howl enables its users to create and share real-time “Urgent” posts. Users can also mark posts as “urgent” if necessary so neighbors receive a push notification. The only other time a user will receive a push notifications from Howl is when a neighbor posts to their Street Group. When it’s from Howl, you know it’s important. Show More
