About 제네바시편송

뱅의 시편찬송가는 개혁교회의 유산입니다.150편의 시편가사와 세개의 다른 노래를 운율에 맞추어 노래하도록 구성한 곡들의 모임입니다. 가사와 선율은 모두 1539년부터 1562년 사이에 스위스 제네바에서 칼뱅의 감독하에 작곡되었습니다.

칼뱅의 교회음악에 대한 철학은 '품위있을 것, 간결할 것' 이었습니다. 칼뱅은 1525년경 제네바에 가게 되었는데, 그는 회중 찬송이 '시편을 그들의 언어로 노래하는 것' 이어야 한다고 주장하였으며, 그는 당시 제네바에 있던 부르주아에게 시편을 회중이 노래할 수 있게 해달라고 작곡을 위촉하였습니다….
