About mCLASS Intervention Practice

mCLASS Intervention Practice is a set of games that helps kids practice early reading skills at school and at home.

We think all kindergarteners and 1st graders will benefit from using the mCLASS Intervention Practice App. 2nd and 3rd graders who last scored Well Below Benchmark and need additional practice with decoding will also benefit.

Moon Mission and Blueberry Thief now have students practice sounding out and blending with low-frequency words. Flying Ace now has students practice reading high-frequency regular words. This change gives kids practice with real words, without reducing opportunities to apply their word attack skills.

Students can now play Boost in classrooms with intermittent connectivity. In addition, students can now keep playing after responding incorrectly in 6 more games: Rise and Shine, Parachute Drop, Lily Pad Jump, Flying Ace, Wave Rider, and Marshmellow Melt.

In response to educator requests for a rhyming game accessible to the very earliest readers, we are pleased to announce the addition of Zoom Boom to the Boost game set. Using Zoom Boom, students match spoken words to images depicting rhyming words, allowing them to practice beginning phonological awareness skills with larger word parts even before they are able to demonstrate phoneme-level awareness.

Based on numerous requests from educators to streamline the login process for younger students, we're rolling out a super fast and simple way to log in using QR codes. Students now have the choice to log in with their username and passwords or by pointing their devices' cameras at their QR code badges.
