About Bossier City
Bossier City, LA: The Bossier City Farmer’s Market officially announces the Market’s Grand Opening at 9 a.m., August 1, 2015 in the south parking lot of Pierre Bossier Mall in Bossier City.
“Bossier’s booming” says Jacob Guerra, co-owner of the Bossier Farmer’s Market. “We have farmers with vegetables they want to sell year round. There’s a void for that in this area.”
The Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Saturday, August 1, 2015 through December 19, 2015. Next year’s dates will be April 2, 2016 through December 17, 2016. The family-friendly event is free, open to the public and will feature children’s activities including face-painting, games and inflatable bouncy houses.
“We are creating an established location with established vendors for a year-round venue,” Guerra said.
The Market has space for up to 200 vendors, with more than 60 already signed up. That number includes 10 food trucks with cuisine varying from German and Mexican to Louisiana home cooking and homemade ice cream.
Local artists are also setting up shop at the Market, with stained glass, jewelry, leather and multimedia creations. “We want to reach out to artists and have more participate,” said co-owner Scott Graham. “A lot of small businesses in this community have made their start at the Farmer’s Market.”
