HOW DOES IT WORK?
Educators: invite students to class groups, post topics, and watch them respond with their own videos. You can also moderate comments, host "virtual office hours" on your own time, hold daily stand-up meetings with TA’s, and more.
Students: Quickly post video responses to class prompts, respond or react to classmates' videos, get instant notifications when your professor or classmates post new videos, hold your own virtual study groups, and ask your instructor questions in a more personal format than email.
WHY NOT JUST EMAIL OR TEXT?
When you really need to provide context, demonstrate complex subjects, or create a collaborative classroom environment, video rules. Text-based methods can lead to apathy, disengagement and dropoff.
A growing body of research demonstrates the strength of video communication in both engaging and retaining online students. With EdConnect, faculty members can give students the face-to-face classroom experience with the convenience of online education.
