ようこそ司令官、君は世界が恐れるスーパーパワー、すなわち核保有国の軍事力を意のままに操れる立場にある。あらゆる決断を慎重に下して欲しい、なぜならこの限られた選択肢しかない世界では、戦争と平和は紙一重だからだ。
「First Strike」はドでかい爆弾をいとも簡単にそこら中に落とすことができる、高速で展開するリアルタイム戦略ゲームだ。だがしかし、然るべき手段を踏んで欲しい、愛する国の人々の安全を確保するために。
核を保有する国々からひとつを選んでほしい。その中にはアメリカのような誰もが知る超大国から、北朝鮮のような厄介者までそれぞれだ。そして綿密な戦略を立ててくれ。他国への侵略、弾頭の建造、状況によっては保有兵器を解体してラインアップを見直すことも必要だろう。そしてリサーチを行って新たな核技術を修得することも大事だ。偵察機能の強化、自動防衛システムなど、戦況を有利にする道具は数々ある。
君は血に飢えた戦争主義者か、それとも日和った平和主義者なのか、手持ちのカードをそろそろ皆に明かす時だ。First Strike」をプレイすれば分かるだろう、世界は一触即発であるということを。宇宙空間に浮かぶ大岩、その儚く尊い存在の行く末を握っているのが、君だ。その大岩を「地球」と我々は呼んでいる。この世界が塵と化した時、君は生きてその光景を眺めているだろうか？
