You can now change the size of the spine text on your book’s binding! As Layflat photo books have thicker pages and wider spines, it’s great to be able to bump up your type size to use more of that space or just be more expressive!
We fixed some minor visual bugs in the simulated book binding and book edges you see in various app views.

We fixed a bug that allowed text in font sizes too large to be printed to be pasted onto the spine. Text pasted onto the spine retains all style attributes but now changes the font size to 15pt, which is the maximum size for spine text.

We improved the text in the warning dialog box shown when converting a hardcover book with more than 100 pages to a format which doesn’t support more than 100 pages.
We now limit project names to 25 characters to ensure readability in the various places the name is shown.

We’ve made the width of the dust jacket flaps on our hardcover books proportional to the size of the book. This makes them feel like just the right size, at all sizes. If you have a hardcover book project in progress, or reopen an older one to revise or reprint it, please check any content on your dust flaps to make sure you’re happy with it at the new size.
We fixed a bug in which the sample postal code shown when shipping to Canada showed a US zip code vs a correctly formatted Canadian postal code.
We fixed a bug in which our page layout browser would show images in the layout options but for pages that had no images placed on them.
We fixed a bug in which the image tray was mistakenly displayed when in the delete page mode for a Canvas project.
We fixed a bug in which the unit of measure, ie inches vs centimeters, for our various products, would not correctly update after changing the iOS device region.

We now remember your last used font choices and use them as defaults when creating new text boxes. This makes it much easier to use fonts you’ve selected across a large project.
You can now remove an image from a page simply by dragging it off the edge of the page. This is an alternative to choosing a pre-designed page layout with fewer images.
Text box borders and handles are now colored pink (vs yellow) when you are interactively editing page layouts. This makes it easier to differentiate text boxes from image boxes.
We fixed a bug in which some images could not be dragged from the image tray to the page after using the remove image from project command.
We fixed a bug that could, in rare cases, cause Motif to crash during the file assembly or file upload steps of the checkout process.

Text box borders and handles are now colored pink (vs yellow) when you are interactively editing page layouts. This makes it easier to differentiate text boxes from image boxes.
We fixed a bug in which some images could not be dragged from the image tray to the page after using the remove image from project command.
We fixed a bug that could, in rare cases, cause Motif to crash during the file assembly or file upload steps of the checkout process.

We made various updates to support iOS 16 – Apple’s new operating system for iPhones and iPads. Please note that the Stage Manager feature, available only on iPad Pro models with M1 chips, is not yet fully supported by Motif. We’ll be updating this soon.
We enhanced the security of our print PDF file upload and storage systems.

We love your feedback and we update Motif regularly in response to it! Here’s what’s new in this release:
We’ve added full iCloud backup support! This means that, if you upgrade to a new iPhone or iPad, your Motif projects will be automatically restored to your new device when you set it up.
We’ve added support for iOS project sharing! Now your Motif projects will automatically be shared between any iPhones or iPads that use the same Apple ID. So, wherever you go, and whatever Apple mobile device you’re on, your Motif projects will go with you!
Please note that both of the above features work only if you are running iOS 15 or above, connect to iCloud with the same Apple ID, have iCloud Backup turned on, and have Motif enabled for backup. These settings can all be found on the iCloud page of the Settings app for your device. These settings are usually enabled by default.
We fixed a bug in which loading “spinners” could interrupt the checkout process when ordering projects that use many images not on your local device.
