Web MIDI Browser は、Web MIDI API を使って作られた Web アプリを、iPhone や iPad で表示するための Web ブラウザです。

Web MIDI Browser は、iOS 8 の新機能、Bluetooth MIDI 接続に対応していますので、Blutooth MIDI に対応した機器を、Web MIDI アプリに接続することができます。

Web MIDI API は、HTML5 標準として策定が進められている、新しい Web クライアント API です。この API を使うと、豊富にある MIDI 機器を使った Web アプリを作ることができます。

MIDI は、本来、電子楽器同士を接続して、演奏性や表現力を高めるために用いられるものですが、その用途は多岐に渡ります。今や、先進のサービスを生み出す原動力となっている Web アプリが、その一端を担うことができれば、さらに活用の幅が広がるでしょう。Web MIDI Browser は、その橋渡しをするためのアプリです。
