About KiwiViewer

KiwiViewer is a free, open-source visualization app for exploring scientific and medical datasets. KiwiViewer opens a variety of file formats and provides flexible methods of accessing data, including Dropbox, Midas, iTunes file sharing, or download via url. Supported data types include meshes, images, and point clouds, with options for vertex coloring and texture mapping. File formats include: byu, g, jpg, kiwi, mha, obj, pcd, pdb, ply, png, stl, tiff, vti, vtk, vtm, vtp, vtu, and archive formats zip, gz, bz2, tar.

KiwiViewer 2.0 contains a redesigned user interface optimized for iPhone and iPad retina displays, new data access and data formats, and advancements to the visualization engine. Dropbox users can link KiwiViewer to enable in-app browsing of datasets stored in Dropbox. Also new is Midas integration, allowing users to browse public, private, and shared folders hosted on Midas, and download datasets from within KiwiViewer.

Several new ParaView integration features are now available, including the ParaView Mobile Remote Control which allows users connect directly to the ParaView desktop application and transfer geometry and scene information. Touch interactions in KiwiViewer are transmitted back to remotely control the ParaView camera.

-Dropbox integration

-iTunes file sharing
-textured meshes
-support for time series data and animations
-a new 2D/3D image viewer with window/level
