This app works much better when you have access to the World Wide Web, where we store all your data, our exercise demos, training programs, and much, much more. But we never intended to shut you out if you tried to start the app in Stone Age mode, which the last version did. Oops. Well, we’ve fixed that now (but we still recommend that you start the app with access to cyberspace).

You said you wanted smaller increments in the weight progression feature, so we fixed that. Now, you can set the progression as low as 0.5 kg/1 lb for the next workout.

We’re also preparing the app for more connections with StrengthLog Coach, our online coaching software, so a lot is happening under the hood.

Also:
• Fixed a daylight savings bug.
• The automatic name suggestions for your workouts now include nighttime naming.

What you’ll notice the most is the completely revamped exercise library on the settings page, with a more intuitive design and much better filtering. As always, if you have feedback or need support, reach out to app@strengthlog.com and we’ll help you within a business day.

For Apple Watch users:
- The app now shows your pulse during active workouts.
- If you pause the workout on the phone app, it will also pause on the watch.
- Sync fixes.

If you downloaded the last release, you might have noticed a small reps bug in your active workouts. This version fixes that! Even though more reps often leads to better training results, we also believe in correct math.

We cleaned the app for Christmas and prepared for a lot of goodies after New Year’s Eve. Note! What that means is a secret, but if you’ve been around previous years, you know what’s coming – so make sure you update to this version before January hits.

Also:
- Click on the Muscles Worked widget to show the number of sets per muscle.
- Now you can choose between several different notification sounds, in the set rest timer settings.
- A lot of bugs hid in Santa’s sack and he took them back to the North Pole.

Apple Watch
- Exercise-specific rest times are now retrieved.
- The timer now syncs with the timer in the phone app.

Things are happening here! The biggest news is that we added mobility exercises as a separate category in the app, and filled the category with more than fifty exercises. Missing one? You can add your own!

Also:
- PB for exercises using the time variable.
- New PB system for bodyweight exercises, which prioritizes reps instead of total weight.
- Opt-in to share your data anonymously with researchers.
- Premium: The quick stats on sets will show a small warning symbol if you haven’t entered a 1RM for the exercise.
- Swipe to show/hide set comments.
- Live activity follows exercise-specific resting times.
- We made protein bars out of a bunch of bugs.

Apple Watch:
- The timer can also count up.
- Set comments are displayed.
- Access the media player from the set view.

Our new muscle map for trained muscles is now available as a widget outside of the app too! You add it the same way as you add other widgets to your home screen.

We also fixed a small bug with the new image rights in iOS 17. Everything should work fine now even if you only give our app limited image rights.

Last but not least, we clarified that it is currently not possible to share workouts or programs that contain exercises you have created yourself – since only you have those exercises in your library.

Two major new features in this update!

1. Workout and training program sharing! Premium users can now share workouts and programs to friends or strangers. The sharing feature is found under the three dots menu.

2. New muscle map showing muscles worked during selected time period! The muscle map can be found on both the start screen and the statistics page. Press the info button to learn more about how the feature works.

Other news:

• The graphs in the quick stats on the start screen are now clickable shortcuts to the full statistics page in question.
• The Apple Watch app has an improved exercise selector, swipe to delete and replace exercises, and it’s possible to add fail or max reps to sets directly from the watch.
• Lots of bugs went missing!

Live activities are here! From now on you’ll be able to see information about your active workouts on your phone’s lock screen and in the dynamic island.

And our first widgets! Search for StrengthLog on the widget screen, and you’ll find two widgets. One for viewing and following your training goals outside of the app, one for the monthly training challenges.

We’re also making your 1RMs for workouts and training programs editable outside of active workouts now! Go to the stats page to add or edit your 1RMs. (Keep in mind that a 1RM is the maximum weight you can lift right now (and want to use in percentage-based workouts), not necessarily the same as your PRs.

On the body measurements page, we’ve added a fat-free mass calculation, for those of you who know your body fat percentage.

New goal type: estimated 1RM.

In addition to this, this version includes a mega bonk of various bugs.
