When using iOS 14.0 or higher, ensure a connection between your Restaurant POS app and local network. A network connection is required to connect with other devices like printers, payment terminals or a Liteserver.

Quick Service mode is now available in Canada! Specifically designed for pay-at-order workflows, Quick Service mode simplifies the amount of steps to complete a transaction. Use the new POS Order screen by turning on the device setting from Manager. Simply go to Restaurant Manager > Devices > Restaurant App Settings > Profile Type and select “Quick Service.”

We improved how online orders are received on the POS. When the device setting is enabled, online orders are now automatically accepted even without a POS user logged in to the app. If online orders are received while the app is on the log-in screen, orders will be assigned to an admin user instead.

To enable this setting on your device, go to Restaurant Manager > Devices > Restaurant App Settings > General Settings and select how to accept online orders for the specified device. “Automatically accept” or “Automatically accept and finalize” means online orders will always be auto-accepted on the device.

We created a new user permission: “Allow open cash drawer from Extras menu.” This new role is automatically (and only) available for users with the “Allow open cash drawer” permission enabled. Improved customer credit management. We recently introduced customer importing on Restaurant Manager. Now, you can also reset customer credits from the same Customer page. To edit customer information such as their available credits, navigate to Manager > Users > Customers.

- We improved the way information refreshes on the Orders List screen.
- Takeout and delivery orders now respect the account’s configured "Opening Time".
- The Actions panel now respects the selected sorting option (product, seat, course etc.) applied to the Order view, and vice-versa. So if you like things sorted by seat, they’ll be sorted by seat across the board.
- We’ve also organized the actions in the Actions panel into categories based on what they do.
- For iPhone users with the new Navigation bar, we’ve eliminated an additional click when switching between floors for a faster workflow.
- We updated the the “Reset” button when filtering on the Order List screen to “Clear”. Because, well, we thought it’d be clearer.

The wait is finally over! The 6.9 release features some major improvements to workflows and navigation. Here’s the full lowdown:
Introducing the all-new Navigation Bar  — a better way to get around!

- We’ve added support for the Super (duper) Retina display of the iPhone X. So go ahead and use that as an excuse to upgrade your device, you know you want to.
- When opening the Overview panel, your floor plan will now automatically resize to make space for it. We also made minor improvements to the Overview panel’s look-and-feel.
- The Cash Drawer popup also received a minor facelift including improvements to the layout and report printing.
- For clarity’s sake, we updated the “Cancel” button in the Actions panel to “Done”. Because what’s done is done!

6.7 2018-06-04
We’re cooking up some big improvements for the next few releases so stay tuned! In the meantime, here’s what’s new in version 6.7:

- Got a bunch of order items on the table that you need to split across seats quickly? No problem! You can now perform bulk actions on groups of items (seat, course etc.) in the Actions Panel.
- Also, it is now more clear what actions a user is able to perform on another user’s receipt based on whether they have the “Allow edit receipts of other users” user permission enabled or not.
6.6 2018-05-22
Here's what's new in version 6.6:

- All the bells and whistles! You can now configure an alert sound that indicates when a new Takeout/Delivery order comes in while you’re on the Tables screen.
- The Actions panel is now always available (for iPads) and the setting to enable/disable it has been removed. So now everyone can get in on the action!
- If a user doesn’t have permission to access the Tables screen, they are now prevented from transferring a receipt or an order item.

We fixed an issue for Ingenico iCT250 and Verifone terminal users with auto-finalizing enabled, where tickets weren’t always printing to the kitchen/bar despite being configured to do so.
6.5 2018-04-18
We have a lot of things happening behind the scenes that we can’t wait to share with you soon but in the meantime, here’s what new in version 6.5:
- To avoid any unintentional sign-outs, we’ve added a more thorough account sign out process that can be accessed by tapping “Account” in the Tools menu.
- We fixed an issue with Dejavoo payments where the app wouldn’t show the payment data until the Payment screen was refreshed.
- We fixed an issue where device profiles weren’t always being respected after performing a “clear cache” or “switch-accounts”.
6.4 2018-03-20
Here's what's new in Lightspeed Restaurant 6.4
- Changes to your LiteServer’s IP address? No biggie. You can now search for your LiteServer(s) without having to sign out of the app.
- We also fixed an issue with receipts not always showing as locked in the Overview Panel when they should have.
- We fixed an issue where a waiter’s default table was not displaying after the app was closed and reopened.
- We fixed an issue where closed receipts were no longer showing credit card information.
- We fixed an issue where if you unfinalized a receipt and then changed the ownership, the payments and tips were not properly transferring to the new owner.
- And of course… there were some other minor fixes that didn’t make the shortlist but still played their part in this version.

- We’ve also improved the handling and reliability of Blackline payments.
- We fixed an issue where the customer information was being replaced by the card information when using a swiper.
- We fixed an issue where sometimes is wasn’t possible to unlock a locked order, even with the appropriate permissions.
- We fixed an issue where a customer would occasionally stay assigned to a bar-type table even after the order was finalized.
- We fixed an issue where a customer deleted from your system would sometimes still show in the customer list.
- And of course… there were some other minor fixes that didn’t make the shortlist but still played their part in this version.
6.2 2018-01-25
Here what’s new in Lightspeed Restaurant 6.2:
- An item’s default designated course is now always printed on kitchen tickets unless edited via the Courses popup.
- We’ve added a nifty little loading animation so you’ll now know when a payment is in the process of being voided.
- Eh oui! We’ve continued to improve the quality and consistency of the French and Dutch translations.
- Are you a hotel using PMS? To reduce the risk of discrepancies, you can no longer modify receipts that have been charged to a room. Trustworthy data for the win!
- We also fixed an issue where auto-finalizing was not working properly for room payments.
- We fixed an issue where creating tabs in the Overview Panel would cause the app to occasionally crash.
- We fixed an issue where printing receipts to images on your device would cause the app to close unexpectedly.
- And finally, we fixed an issue with finalizing receipts that still had open choices. Because choices can be tough sometimes.
6.1.3 2017-12-18
Get back up to speed: This small update fixes a performance bug for iPhone/iPod users.

Here's what you might of missed in 6.1:
- The “Extra” and “Takeout” buttons on the Tables screen have swapped places to be more inline with existing workflows. We apologize for any wrongful tapping this may have caused.
- We also removed the unnecessary tax and payment information from the order list in the Actions Panel.
- Do you use the Reservations feature? If so, you may have experienced a now resolved issue with the “Done” button in the Modifiers popup.
- We also fixed an issue where the app would occasionally crash when opening empty categories.
- We fixed an issue so that searching customers by their address now works as it did before.
- We fixed an issue so the date-picker on the Takeout & Delivery screen now shows minutes again.
- We fixed an issue so that you are now always brought to the first page of products when switching between categories with multiple pages of products.
- We fixed a minor issue where some users were able to apply discounts without having the permission enabled.
- We also fixed a weird layout issue with the Elevated Permissions popup.
