Our latest release adds the ability to track (in real time) the number of passengers on an arriving bus. This is part of our efforts to empower you to maximize social distancing in the wake of COVID-19.
When looking at real-time bus information in MYmta, you’ll now see “riders: #”. That's our best estimate at the number of riders on that bus based on the data we get from the real-time passenger counters available on 40% of the bus fleet. If you don’t see the count, that bus isn’t equipped with a passenger counter yet. We’ll be expanding the number of buses with counters throughout the year. We’ll also be experimenting with different ways to display this information and looking at other data sources.
