Use the Review perspective to keep your projects and tasks on track.

Then let our free syncing system make sure your data is the same on all your iOS devices. (And on OmniFocus for Mac and Web, available separately.) Because your data is encrypted, it’s safe in the cloud.

• Inbox is where you quickly add tasks — save them when you think of them, organize them later
• Syncing supports end-to-end encryption so that your data is safe wherever it’s stored, on our server or yours
• Notes can be attached to your tasks, so you have the information you need
• Attachments — graphics and audio — add rich information to your tasks

Pro features make OmniFocus even more powerful:

PRO FEATURES

3.7 2020-04-08
OmniFocus 3.7 adds new shortcut actions:

• Shortcuts: The Show Database Object in OmniFocus shortcut action has been removed. Now that all of our other Shortcut actions can return an `OmniFocus URL`, you can use a generic URL action instead.
• Shortcuts: The tag and project pickers in New Item and Find Items now accept the results of the new Find Projects and Find Tags actions (some of them previously accepted database objects, which was confusing).
• Shortcuts: Get Database Object from Input is now Get Database Object Result from Input. Instead of returning a database object, this action now returns a result that contains one of Item, Project, Folder, Tag, or Perspective, depending on the input. These objects can be used in the pickers found in other OmniFocus shortcut actions.
• Shortcuts: Added Find Projects and Find Tags shortcut actions that can be used in conjunction with New Item, Find Items, and Show in OmniFocus.
• Shortcuts: Added a new Today's Forecast shortcut action that returns items based on your Forecast view options.
• Shortcuts: Today's Forecast and Find Items now have an option to Show When Run.
• Shortcuts: You can now access the `Dropped Date (including inherited)` attribute of returned items.
• Shortcuts: You can now access the `OmniFocus URL` attribute of returned items.
• Shortcuts: Find Items now sorts results in projects order by default. The previous sorting options are also still available.
• Backups: Unreferenced attachments (those slated for deletion) are no longer included in backups.
• Floating Time Zone: This control is now active whenever custom notifications have been added to an item.
• Today Widget: The Today widget now shows items that are blocked, just like the Forecast perspective does.

• Share Sheet: Fixed a problem where the extension would crash if you tried to send multiple photos to OmniFocus at once.
• Shortcuts: Worked around a Shortcuts bug where Add Item would present a picker when given a list of tags from Find Tags. A side effect of this is that Add Item will no longer automatically take the output of the previous action as input; sorry for the inconvenience.
• Sync: Fixed a problem where sync would silently fail while in Airplane Mode, instead of presenting an error.
• URLs: Fixed several problems with navigation URLs.

3.5 2020-02-11
OmniFocus 3.5 adds two new Shortcut actions.

• Shortcuts — Added two new Shortcut actions, Add Item and Add TaskPaper, which duplicate the functionality of actions that have been built into Shortcuts since its introduction, but are maintained by Omni.

• Today Widget — Fixed a problem where the last item would sometimes not appear.
• Search — In iOS 13 empty outline views automically reveal the search bar by default and set the search scope Remaining or Everything as appropriate.

3.3 2019-07-03
OmniFocus 3.3 for iOS adds the ability to drop individual actions.

• Database Migration — The ability to drop individual actions requires that all of your syncing devices are running OmniFocus 3.4 for Mac or 3.3 for iOS (or later). Once all of your devices have been updated, you’ll be prompted to migrate your database to support the new feature.
• Action Status — Updated the logic that determines whether an action is blocked. The rules are as follows:
• A task with its own explicit status (completed or dropped) always respects that status.
• A task with no tags is available.
• A task with any on-hold tag is blocked.
• A task with all dropped tags is blocked.
• A task with any other mixture of tags is available.
• Today & Watch (PRO) — When a custom perspective is chosen in Today & Watch settings, the collapsed view (as seen in Complications, the Next Up slot, and the collapsed Today Widget) now shows the first item in a perspective rather than trying to show the most timely action. If you want to keep the old behavior, sort the perspective you choose by Due or Due and Flagged.
• Dropped Actions — It’s now possible to drop an individual action using the inspector, option-space keyboard shortcut, 3D Touch, or swipe menu. Dropping an item is a great way to preserve an action even though you’ve decided not to do it.
• External Keyboards — You can now expand and collapse groups in the outline using the left and right arrows on a hardware keyboard.
• Outline — Added a Show Tags row to View Options for each perspective; un-check it to hide tags in the outline for that perspective.
• Perspectives — Added Due & Flagged as a new perspective sort criteria for database that have been migrated to the latest version (items with due dates or flags are shown first).
• Perspectives — You can now filter, sort, and group actions by dropped status.
• Repeats — Added a Skip item to the 3D Touch and swipe menus for repeating items that drops the current occurrence and schedules the next one.
• 3D Touch — Fixed a problem where in certain cases the title field didn’t get keyboard focus when using the New Inbox Item Quick Action.
• Attachments — You can once again drag and drop files to and from the attachment tab of the inspector.
• Inspector — Fixed a problem where the title for the Inbox Item inspector was mislabeled as “New Inbox Item”.
• Replace Server Database — You can once again Replace Server Database if you don’t know the encryption passphrase for the database on the server: cancel at the prompt, then choose Replace Without Backing Up.
• Split Screen — Fixed a crash in split screen on iPad in a future iOS release.
• Action Groups — Completing an action group no longer explicitly completes every action in that group. Instead, the actions inherit the completed status.
• Action Status — Actions in projects or action groups that are completed or dropped now inherit their container’s status—similar to the existing behavior of due dates, defer dates, and flags. Incomplete actions with at least one dropped tag inherit a dropped status. The Completed perspective and Availability: Dropped perspective filter rule match actions that inherit a completed or dropped status.
• Drag and Drop — Made it easier to drop items into the first position of an action group.
• Localizations — Updated localizations.
• Selection — Tapping an already-selected item now opens the inspector instead of deselecting (multiple selection in edit mode remains unchanged).
• Subscriptions — Improved feedback and guidance when signed in to sync using one Omni Account and trying to purchase a subscription with another.
• Sync — Updated the feedback that OmniFocus gives you when it encounters a sync incompatibility.
• Smaller Fixes and Improvements — Thanks for sending in your feedback!

• URLs — Fixed the handling of omnifocus:///add URLs in compact views. 3.0.1 2018-05-28
OmniFocus 3 introduces tags, advanced perspectives, a multi-pane mode with batch editing, more powerful repeat options, customizable notifications, and more:

• Tags — Create and assign as many tags as you’d like to any item in OmniFocus. Contexts created in previous versions of OmniFocus are automatically converted to tags, and tags support the same status and location properties that contexts did in OmniFocus 2. If you’re continuing to sync with OmniFocus 2, the first tag assigned to an item will appear as its context.
• Perspectives (PRO) — A new perspective editor lets you build your views from powerful filter rules via drag and drop. You can group rules in “Any”, “All”, and “None” combinations to get exactly what you’re looking for. This feature requires a database that has been migrated to the latest format, now supported in OmniFocus 2.12.2 for Mac and 2.22.3 for iOS
• Multi-Pane Mode — On wider devices OmniFocus now supports a three-pane view. You can show a left sidebar or a right inspector, and both can be “pinned” to be persistent.
• Batch Editing — You can now use Edit mode to select multiple items and change the properties of all of the items in your selection using the inspector.
• Repeats — There are many new options for repeats, including day-of-week and day-of-month intervals. A new UI makes configuring repeats more intuitive.
• Flexible Notifications — OmniFocus 3 supports several new notification types. Due, Defer, and “Latest Start” (Due time minus estimated duration) notifications can be made the default for all items in Settings. Custom “Before Due” and “Fixed” notifications can be added to items individually.
• Forecast Tag (PRO) — In Forecast’s View Options, you can choose a tag to display in Today. In this section, you’ll see available items with your chosen tag. Once a Forecast Tag has been set, you can quickly tag items with a left-to-right swipe. The Forecast Tag is great for important items that don’t have explicit dates, daily rituals, and a lot more!
• Interleaved Forecast — Instead of keeping your calendar events in a separate section, they now appear as rows mixed in with your due items so you can get a better picture of exactly when in your day you should be getting things done.
• Customizable Inspector — OmniFocus now hides most fields in the inspector by default. Show More at the bottom of the inspector reveals all fields, and tapping Customize Inspector lets you drag rows between the Always Show and Hide by Default groups.
• Clean Up — We’ve added OmniFocus for Mac-style Clean Up across all views, so that actions don’t disappear out from under you while editing in 3-pane mode. To manually clean up on iPhone, pull down on the outline as if to sync. On iPad, use the broom button next to View Options. A Clean Up area has been added to Settings.
• Drag and Drop — Drag and Drop works in many new places, including your project and tag libraries.
• Perspective Editor (PRO) — In addition to the new rules interface, you can choose a custom icon and a custom tint color for your custom perspectives.
• Look and Feel — OmniFocus has a fresh new look that feels at home on iOS 11.
