Pedometer++ Description
Your iPhone is always with you and makes a great step counter.

Available on the iPhone and Apple Watch, Pedometer++ is the best way to review your step count, walking distance, active calories and heart rate data.

Set a custom step count goal, and track your progress over time. The built-in graphs make reviewing your data easy and fun. Everyone loves awards, and Pedometer++ includes a range of Badges to motivate and reward your hard work! The app also totals how far you’ve walked each day, and even counts the flights of stairs you encounter each day.

With full-featured widget support, Pedometer++ can display your step count or update you on your daily progress right from the lock screen or home screen of your iPhone.

The Apple Watch app puts all this data on your wrist. With a wide range of Complications, it’s easy to check your progress with just a glance. Add a single Complication to your daily watch face, or add several to build a comprehensive fitness-focused look!

DETAILS:
For best results, keep your iPhone on you as you move throughout the day, ideally in a pocket close to your hips. If you have an Apple Watch, you can set Pedometer++ to sync step data across your devices for the most accurate data possible.

The Apple Watch app can also be used to start and track both indoor and outdoor walking and running workouts and can serve as your guide while hiking.

ROUTES & MAPPING:
Pedometer++ is your ultimate companion for exploring the great outdoors. You can import GPX files for waypoints and routes set by others.

You can also use the app to create your own routes. Simply tap on your desired start and end points, and Pedometer++ will find the shortest route between them. You can then tweak the route based on terrain, trail popularity or personal preference.

In addition to the distance of a route, Pedometer++ shows the elevation changes you will encounter and the estimated time it will take you to reach your destination. You can also monitor the weather that is expected along your route.

The best part is that custom routing is available on the iPhone and Apple Watch. And of course, being out in nature often means losing cell service, so Pedometer++ allows you to download offline map data for large areas, not just data for your specific route. Offline map data is available on the iPhone and Apple Watch, as long as your Watch is within range of your phone.

NOTES:
Pedometer++ integrates with the Apple Health app to collect and display step data collected by your Apple Watch.

Pedometer++ includes an optional premium subscription. This is offered on a monthly or annual basis. If you choose to purchase a subscription your payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled within 24 hours before the end of the current period. After purchase, you can turn off auto-renewal anytime by going to your Account Settings on the App Store.

Access to iPhone-based workout tracking is only available to Pedometer++ Premium subscribers.

5.3 2023-12-04
This update is focused around massive improvements to Hiking Routes and Offline Maps. You can now plan routes right inside of Pedometer++ using an intuitive waypoint based editor. Just tap the points you want to visit and a walking route will automatically be calculated along that route. You can then download offline map tiles for a given area or along the route you have planned to take.

On the Apple Watch side of things there is a massive visual overhaul to bring the app inline with the new watchOS 10 design. The route planner is also now available on the Apple Watch, perfect for those last minute changes in plans.

For those users in the United Kingdom there is also now the ability to display OS maps within the app.

I've also now added Yearly Streaks up to 10 years.

4.0 2019-05-29
Introducing Pedometer++ version 4.0! This update is all about letting you personalize Pedometer++ to your tastes.
• Support for Fixed Timezones. You can set the app to your home timezone and it will always display your step counts in that location. So when you travel your streaks and achievements don't get mixed up.
• I've added a few new color themes for the app:
• A Dark Mode for situations where you'd prefer a less bright display
• A new color palette option that is designed with colorblind users in mind. My typical red-orange-green theming is less than ideal for users with color differentiation limitations so I worked with some accessibility experts to come up with a theme that should provide more contrast for all users.
• You can now set alternative icons for the app, to make it fit in with your home screen aesthetic.
• I re-worked how your daily step goal is changed within the app. Previously your goal would apply to your entire history and changing it would update it for every day in the app. This made it really awkward to increase your goal over time, as you'd loose your old achievements and streaks. Now changing your goal doesn't affect your past data, only the current day and moving forward. So starting at a lower goal and then slowly increasing over time works much better.
• The monthly challenges are now pre-loaded into the app so they'll appear on the first day of each month, without needing an app update.
• I also refreshed the design of the Apple Watch app making it fit in better with the overall system apps.

I hope this update makes Pedometer++ feel even more personal to you and in turn gives you that little extra boost to get out there walking.

3.4.5 2019-02-28
I have a major update that is nearly finished that includes a ton of very exciting changes. It isn't quite ready yet so in the meantime here is a quick update that adds the March Challenge:

- March's goal is distance based where the distance goal is based on you reaching 75% of your daily step goal for the whole month.

Thanks for all the great feedback about the monthly challenges, I'm so glad to hear they are a fun new motivator. I can't wait to show you all the cool updates that are coming soon!

The first badge of 2019 has the objective of reaching your daily step goal 19 times in January. I hope these additional challenges will help you to find that little bit of extra motivation to get up and moving.

Happy New Year!

Another quick bug fix update to address a situation where steps would get double counted and would grow massively. I'm very sorry for these data issues. I take very seriously keeping the step counting logic as rock solid as possible but unfortunately had to make a few changes recently. I think I'm getting very close to ironing out all the issues, if you see anything a miss please let me know. I'll work tirelessly to get them all sorted.

—Dave

I'm delighted to announce version 3.0 of Pedometer++. I've been working on Pedometer++ for the last four years I've worked to constantly improve and enhance the app, to make it more and more motivating, and to keep it up to date with the latest capabilities of our devices. This update brings with it two major features and a truckload of little improvements and tweaks.

Additionally, I've done lots of work behind the scenes fixing little bugs or smoothing over past issues. I hope you enjoy this update.
