PEER Description
PEER is an indispensable tool for mobile EEG researchers. This 5-in-1 collection of iOS-based research tools is designed for use by neuroscience researchers who want a cost-effective solution that can record and export electroencephalography (EEG) data from the Muse™ headband (www.choosemuse.com). Its lightweight setup allows researchers to easily conduct research outside of a laboratory setting.

PEER comes with four unique, customizable modes that can induce and record Event-Related Potentials (ERPs), which are electrophysiological responses of the brain to external stimuli. By gathering ERP data, researchers can make a wide variety of inferences about the functioning of the human brain.

The four modes included with the basic version of PEER correspond to research designs that will be familiar to neuroscience researchers:

· Passive Oddball
· One Response Oddball
· Two Response Oddball
· Go-No-Go

Each of these games can be set for play with either visual or auditory stimuli.

The suite also contains a raw data recording mode that provides an efficient, reliable tool for capturing EEG data from research subjects. This mode gives researchers valuable flexibility to use the system for a wide variety of experimental designs. Furthermore, PEER is expandable and features additional game modes and analysis tools as in-app purchases.

The system is simple to use and does not require an elaborate technical setup. You simply place the Muse™ headband on your subject’s head, open a Bluetooth connection with the iOS device running PEER, and you can almost immediately start collecting data.

PEER was developed by a team that includes Dr. Olav Krigolson of the University of Victoria, a leading researcher in the field who is already regularly using PEER in the field to pursue his own agenda in mobile EEG research. In short, PEER is the ideal solution for serious neuroscience researchers who want to be able to collect data in a much faster and more cost-effective manner. But it is also for anyone else who wants to collect their brainwave data for personal analysis… or even just for fun!

- Improve the Gambling Task instruction editor so that the text field expands in height to accomodate long blocks of instructional text.

- Addressed a crashing bug that occurs when importing study documents shared with PEER from another application

- Resolved a problem where imported studies may overwrite existing studies instead of creating a new study
2.0 2019-09-02
PEER 2.0 is a significant step forward. The application is now more efficient, more customizable, and easier to use. It offers in-app purchases that expand both its on-board analytical capacities and the selection of available research paradigms. We have also upgraded the Oddball and Go-No-Go games to include audio versions.

In addition, we've made numerous smaller improvements that make your research process easier, ranging from built-in documentation to support for simultaneous two-screen use.

1.0.1 2017-11-23
Improvements in PEER 1.0.1 include: - Reduced resource consumption by ensuring recordings are properly closed after viewing EEG data. - Corrected some typos in the Camera and Bluetooth security strings presented when PEER tries to access these resources. - The icons presented in the recordings list give a better indication of the type of recording. - Corrected a bug where the background color was incorrect in the screen that appears following a block of trials. - Misc. improvements to the management of MUSE connections.
