We've gone global. Plume Labs' air quality forecasting app is now available for every city on Earth.
That's right. In one big push we've jumped from 430 cities covered in the app to hundreds of thousands—even small towns without official monitoring stations.
It's all thanks to 18 months of hard work from our team constructing a world air quality model that more than makes the grade. Here's a sneak peek at what you now get:
*Global coverage*
Know what you breathe, wherever you are. Every urban area on the planet is now covered by real-time air quality data—as well as forecasts for the coming 24 hours.
*Fluid timeline*
Slide along the timeline to see historical data. Pinch the screen to change timescales and reveal month by month air quality tracking.
*Detailed data*
Tap the Plume cloud to expand the compass and get pollutant by pollutant breakdowns. Use our new Confidence Index to quickly confirm the accuracy of our modelling.
*Easily compare air quality worldwide*
Swipe between cities to easily compare air quality. Our universal Plume Index means you'll quickly see how the air measures up. Prefer your measurements in µg/m3 or a local AQI? Easily adjust your settings in-app.
*Get the info you need*
We've revamped our in-app FAQ and blog to make sure you can get the info you need to understand air quality around you and improve what you breathe.
*UX/UI overhaul*
Our design team brought their A game to tweak the app's visuals and streamline user experience.
Got feedback? Words of wisdom? Cookies to send the team? Get in touch on team@plumelabs.com.
If you think these latest updates are as cool as we do, let us know! You can review the latest version on the App Store—even if you've done so in the past.

Open your lungs to the extraordinary. The newest version of the Plume Air Report is now out! Here are the awesome extra features :
***Geolocation*** We took modern life into consideration and added geolocation. Say goodbye to updating your location manually when traveling. We made it a lot easier. The app now uses geolocation to give users the air quality for their current location, automatically.
***Historical View*** We added a new functionality that turns the Plume Air Report into a fantastic time machine. Users can now get an overview of the air quality in their city over the past months. Our data science team has been crawling data furiously to make this happen. (The only time they surfaced over was to play futsal…). Big up team data!
***Photo Sharing*** Version 1.3 brings some serious fun to the Plume Air Report. A new feature allows users to take a picture and add a filter with live information about air quality. Seriously, how cool is that? The pic can then be tagged and shared directly from the #PlumeAirReport. It makes it so simple to let people in your city know about air quality or express your views on the topic. By the way, we’d be curious to see a picture of the sky in your city today : #freshair or #airpocalypse...?
***Blog and content*** Improve your knowledge about the air with a direct access to our blog. There, we post articles on the urban tech community, Plume Labs’ actuality, atmospheric sciences, and many others. You’re welcome to send us any topic you’d like to see covered in this blog. We’ll do our best to address it if we can.
***New onboarding*** As great UX is crucial to you (and us), we redesigned the application onboarding. It makes it surprisingly simple for users to get familiar with the newly added functionalities. Browsing the Plume Air Report has never been so seamless.
Wanna share feedback/advice/words of wisdom? Send them to team@plumelabs.com. And remember, little big details mean a lot to us. ;)

1.2.1
2015-10-16
This update will get you rid of a few small bugs.
-- From the 1.2 update:
Tens of thousands of people loved the first version of the Plume Air Report and its magical functionalities: Say farewell to sneezing when you cross the street! At last, you come back from running with your lungs hurting less than your thighs! Thankfully, you won’t have to quit your city-center job to go raise your kids in the countryside! Knowing in real-time what activities are advisable depending on air quality, and anticipating the evolution of pollution in the next 24 hours, what a change!
Yet when fighting off urban pollution, one has a rather full agenda, and we weren’t going to stop there: in this new version we offer you even more useful tools to avoid exposure to air pollution.
You’ll be happy to discover: real-time UV index, yes, you won’t cycle back from work with a sunburnt neck; Chinese translation of the whole app - we’ve been working quite a bit over the summer; Apple-Watch compatibility (thinking next generation); adding another air quality index; and of course, we cover many more cities! How cool is that?

1.1.1

Wow! What a journey it's been – we heard all the love, as well as the feedback, on our first release. And we spent the summer making this version even more awesome.
Among the lovely little things we’ve added, you’ll find, first and foremost… 80+ new cities, with lovely cover pictures and automated city list updates from our server. Air pollution at a glance with our brand new widget. Updated texts for social media shares - spread the love. Brand new tips and explanations about air pollution, our Plume Air Index and our data, our sacred mission down here. Some sweet and elegant graphic corrections, courtesy of our wonderful designer. More stability – never superfluous, if you ask me, in our fast-paced globalized world – sigh. Oh, and a nice little add-on: a dotted line to cater for data gaps – dealing with “oopsy” moments without losing style!
*** 80+ new cities *** Mexico, Berlin, Barcelona, Moscow, Santiago de Chile, etc. The whole team has been travelling a lot lately, at least virtually: our coffee breaks have become a lot quieter lately, except for a few ‘oooh… sweet… have you seen this new city?...’
*** Brand new widget *** while dressing up in the morning, check out air pollution and decide whether it’s the good day to cycle to work.
*** Automated update of the city list with our server *** no need to wait for ages for another app release to get your beloved city on the Air Report! It is automatically refreshed by the server.
*** Updated texts for social media shares *** running out of inspiration? We’ve made the job easier for you. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and watch all the “likes” you get from spreading the revolution all around.
*** Updated explanations *** not only do we provide the most relevant information and recommendations, easy to read at a glance, but we also have strong scientific data and in-depth research to back our work. We’re proud to present them clearly and in detail so you can impress your friends at dinner parties.
*** Some sweet and elegant graphic corrections *** you don’t want to see overlapping images, do you?
*** More stability *** less crashes, less delays, less of that annoying little spinning wheel that makes you want to smash your phone against the wall…
*** Dotted line to cater for data gaps *** as you know, we rely on public data to deliver our pollution index and pollutant levels. Technology can always be improved, as we are all cruelly reminded of when we struggle to find cellular reception in the countryside; so when such black holes happen in air quality measurements, instead of letting it mess up our spotless graphics, we came up with the most brilliant idea: adding a little dotted line to fill in the blank. Yeah, we know.
That's all for this time – stay tuned for next updates!

Howdy, pure-air breathers of the world!
So, you’re here for the revolution? Together, let’s make our cities breathable again! Information leads to empowerment, and that’s what our app is all about.
You have sent us loads of feedback about our first version: we are really grateful, as happy as a jogger when his screen displays “fresh air”. We’re proud to introduce the new version you have helped us build, all shiny, revamped, upgraded – fighting off pollution’s never been easier!
