这个程序根据美国驻华大使馆操作的Twitter账户的实时数据显示北京、上海、成都、广州的空气污染情况。由于众所周知的原因,虽然不违反任何现行法律,但是当局屏蔽了Twitter,也不允许任何网站报道PM2.5的数据。美国使馆方面很低调,声称这主要目的是“为了使馆工作人员的健康”,而且“一个监测站的数据不能代表整个城市的空气质量”。不过通常的情况是,环保局报道空气质量为优或者良的情况下,PM2.5的污染指数AQI已经是非常不健康的水平了。
