3.3.13 2023-09-26
- New feature: The log of completed exercises can now be cleared. To do so, view the log (either for all workouts or for just one) then long-press on one of the log entries to delete it and all earlier entries.
- Fixed a bug that could cause PT Timer to use excessive storage on your device.
- Fixed several minor user interface issues.
3.3.12 2023-04-02
• A couple of improvements for use as a meditation timer. You can now choose to have the 'get ready' and 'finished' cues be given as tones (rather than the more prominent spoken cues); a workout can now be assigned the 'mind & body' activity type for sync with HealthKit (first turn on 'Share with Health app' from the Config tab).
• A couple of very minor user interface changes; the workout configuration button has been moved in under the menu on the workout detail view.
• Some minor bug fixes.
3.3.10 2023-03-12
Added equipment options: pulley (e.g. for shoulder rehab); chair; cane; doorway; wall.
3.3.9 2023-01-15
• Fixed a situation where a voice recorded instruction would not be played.
• When pausing during an exercise, the instruction text is now locked in order to prevent inadvertent changes (tap the EDIT button to make changes).
• Added equipment option: Half round foam roller.
3.3.7 2022-05-12
- Fixes a bug that could cause crash after editing a log entry.
- Support for full page screenshots. When taking a screenshot (of the Workouts tab, of a session, or of a compound workout) you can now use full-page mode which means all the entries will be captured, not just those that fit on the screen. (Requires iOS 13 or higher).
- Added equipment options: Body blade.
3.3.6 2021-10-23
• Additional countdown options (every second last 3 seconds, last 5 seconds).
• New equipment options: Weighted vest, pull-up bar, and ballet (plié) barre.
3.3.5 2021-08-21
• The duration of exercises can now be as fast as 1.0 seconds (previous minimum was 1.5 seconds).
• The exercise type (hold, no-hold, or fixed duration) can now be modified.
• Added equipment options: Plain ball and towel.
3.3.4 2021-01-06
A new feature to create PDF reports with your regimen, for example to review with your physical therapist was added in the previous update; this update fixes a bug that could affect the layout of reports that include compound workouts. You can now adjust the font size for the PDF reports.
3.3.0 2020-08-21
• Can now run in the background, giving audio cues for your exercises, while you can read or listen to another app.
• The log and reports now include information such as reps and sets counts, duration, weights, and other workout parameters.
• Duplicate a session. Swipe left across a session, then duplicate it.
• If you want to be able to abort a workout without the need to confirm, you can now do that with a special gesture. Turn on "Enable immediate abort" either in workout configs or set it in the app config defaults and overrides.
• Fixed a bug that could cause some app settings to be displayed incorrectly.
3.2.5 2020-08-14
Just a couple of tweaks of the previous update:
• Simplifications of the UI to make it easier when aborting a workout or a session (avoiding unnecessary alerts).
• When aborting a workout, you now have the option to immediately mark it completed (e.g. in case you completed it before the allocated time interval).
• You can now pause during the rest between workouts in a session play-through.
3.2.3 2020-06-18
• Added more exercise equipment options: strap (e.g. for calf stretches); medicine ball (weighted ball for strength training); foam roller.
• The Config tab has a new control: 'Show full equipment list' (off by default). When turned on, each workout on the Workouts tab will show a full list of the required equipment (rather than the possibly abbreviated list shown by default).
• Sessions now show a list of all equipment required for the selected workouts.
• Some minor user interface improvements.
3.2.2 2020-06-06
• Duplicate workouts. Swipe left across a workout, then duplicate it.
• Hide workouts. Swipe right across a workout, then select 'Hide'. This can be useful if you have many workouts that you no longer use, but still want to keep them. Tap in the search bar to view your hidden workouts.
• New 'Due today' option for sessions allows you to quickly select all those exercises that are due today.
• Fixed a bug that could cause crash after removing a workout from a session.
• Several user interface improvements.
3.2.1 2020-05-16
Fixed a bug that could make it impossible to change certain exercise parameter values.
3.2.0 2020-04-30
• Get Apple Health app "credit" for the time you spend doing workouts with PT Timer. See the user guide for details on how to best use this feature. Requires a compatible device and iOS 12 or higher.
• The durations of workouts and sessions are now calculated and displayed (this is optional and can be turned off from Config).
• Add notes about any relevant events, independent of workouts. Notes are included in the PDF reports that you may provide to your physio. Access from the menu on the Workouts tab.
• Review the new features and other changes anytime (from the More tab).
• Updated privacy policy, including this summary: "We do not collect any of your data except when you explicitly decide to share data with us, for example through email or other correspondence. Continue reading for full information."
• Better support for large text sizes and accessibility options using extra large text.
• For those of you who organize your workouts using #tags, it is now easier to search for tags, and it is possible to search for workouts that match multiple tags.
• For compound workouts, the step indicator now only counts exercise steps (excluding announcement steps), thus giving a better indication of your progress through the workout.
• Several other user interface improvements.
• Fixed a bug that could cause simultaneous renaming of workout and exercise to only rename the workout.
• Several other minor bug fixes.
3.1.11 2020-04-03
• Feature: Export your workouts to a PDF document (including instructions, pictures, and schedule). Available from the More tab. This may be useful if you like to consolidate all the information in one paper document as a backup.
• Feature: From the menu on the Workouts tab, you can now perform a schedule reset, which will reset the workout due dates; for example, items marked "overdue" will be rescheduled for the first day compatible with the schedule.
• Improvement: The time passed since last completing a workout can now be shown independently of whether the workout has been scheduled.
• Some minor user interface improvements.
3.1.10 2020-03-31
• Feature: From the Config tab, you can now control which pieces of information are shown for workouts. For example, you can turn off information in order to make the workouts be listed more compactly on the Workouts tab.
• Feature: You can opt to show today's progress for each workout (useful for workouts that must be completed many times per day); the log also shows today's progress. See the user guide for details on how this is calculated.
• Fix: When adding a schedule to a workout, if possible, the workout will be scheduled immediately (for "today").
• Fix: Corrected a case where the date for the last completion of a workout could be wrong.
• Some minor report formatting corrections.
3.1.9 2020-03-25
• Send a progress report to your physical therapist. View the log (from the menu on the Workouts tab) then save the report or email it directly. The report shows the difficulty level and any comments you made when completing each exercise.
• Progress counting and count-down during a repetition can now be given by a simple tone, rather than by spoken counts; and for those short but tough positions, you can now have a progress count every second.
• For circuit training, easily repeat exercises within a compound workout. Just scroll to the bottom of the workout, tap +, tap to create circuit, then specify the number of rounds of the circuit.
3.1.8 2020-01-11
A minor improvement for those of you who need to handle your phone, or keep it in your pocket, during workout: you can now select a more complex pause gesture and thus avoid accidentally pausing the workout. Use the Config tab, or the workout config, to set this option.
3.1.7 2019-12-18

• Fixed a bug that could cause a workout that was manually marked completed to not show the correct time interval since last completion.
• Improved robustness and minor user interface corrections.

This may be useful, for example, when providing feedback to your physiotherapist. This log is available from the menu on the Workout tab.

Version 3 was rewritten from scratch to provide new features and a modern easy-to-use interface.
3.0.0 2019-06-18
The same PT Timer you know and love, but rewritten from scratch to provide new features and a modern easy-to-use interface.
2.2.0 2011-06-22
NEW FEATURES: • Sharing by email now uses a simple text code (instead of an attachment) which works with any email reader (not only with the Apple Mail app). Three new methods are available for sharing: 1) copy / paste of a text code; 2) share via a Facebook post; 3) share via Twitter. Exercises can be imported simply by tapping the shared link, or alternatively by copying the text code and tapping the new “Paste share link” button (on the Import view). • The red badge on the app now shows the number of exercises that are due. PT Timer can notify you when exercises are due, using banners or alerts according to your settings in the iOS notification center. • You can now synchronize tagged exercises such that if the exercises have the same schedule, then they will be scheduled for the same days. Furthermore, changes of exercise parameters will no longer cause the schedule tracking to be reset (which in previous versions could cause exercise schedules to get out of sync). • The flashing yellow prepare cue can now be turned off (via More > Settings). • Easily create Facebook posts and Twitter tweets with links to information about PT Timer. IMPROVEMENTS AND BUG FIXES: • On the Workout tab, sorting exercises by duration is much faster. • For exercises of type “reps without hold” an audible “rest” cue is now given whenever there is time. • Several corrections and improvements of the user interface layout. • Improved stability. Looking forward to hear how you like it, and to your emails with requests for the next version.
