Push (PTT) Description
Simoco's Push is an LMR over the internet and group talk Smartphone app for Enterprise and Government domains. It adds to your Apple iOS device the functionality of a cost-effective, secure and real-time Push to Talk over Cellular device, group text and Multimedia (Images) messaging device and location tracker. Our Radio over Phone and Push to Talk iPhone and iPad apps work at all places wherever there is wireless broadband network connection provision including PTT over Wi-Fi, 3G and LTE and when its Push app server has been implemented in the Internet Cloud or physical Customer premises.

The Push is a Smartphone Walkie-Talkie app and provides senior management, emergency services, operational, security, logistics and administrative staff with access to advanced instant group communication and information. This is made possible by integrating the Push app's PTT over UMTS/HSPA, 4G cellular and Wi-Fi with DMR networks to deliver seamless instant PTT communication, group messaging and location tracking.

Push two-way radio app can also be used even if a DMR network is not integrated using AIS Gateway with the Push server. In this case, the devices in use in the network will only be Smartphones. Push server will still be required to serve the app.

General Bug Fixes
14.3 2019-12-14
1.1 ATS Exceptions
This section only applies to those apps that are FirstNet certified, which includes ESChat. We have removed
all ATS exceptions from the app, meaning all webservice transactions must now run via HTTPS. If you are
running on ESChat hosted equipment this change is now in place. If you are running your own equipment or
have customer hosted systems in place, the server configuration must change to use HTTPS for everything
prior to deploying/installing this release.
For non-FirstNet certified apps, we still recommend starting to migrate to HTTPS everywhere. We will
eventually remove ATS exceptions across the board.
1.2 iOS 12.4 / 13.x Background Recording Issue
This issue persits and the workaround remains in place. We have not received any new information from
Apple regarding when this issue will be resolved.
There are three issues to be aware of with this workaorund. First, if the customer uses Bluetooth Always On they will not be able to make a phone call without turning it off. For this case, there will be a new
icon on the toolbar that will allow the user to quickly toggle the setting on and off.
Second, when a PTT call is received while the screen is locked, if the customer wakes up the screen it
will look like a standard iOS phone call. Most of the buttons here are useless and the customer should just
unlock the screen with the home button or by pressing the app icon in the lower right of the grid. Pressing
the red X button will hose the PTT call.
Third, the Now Playing widget which has the play/pause button on it is broken. This was never an intentional feature of the app but some customers had gotten used to it. Until the issue is solved, this
"feature" is broken. Note: We highly recommend setting the PTT Button type to None unless the user
is actually using a PTT button accessory. This will prevent many accidental transmissions and stuck mic
situations.
1.3 App Store Notes
Fixed issue with rightmost swipe action being blank on iOS 13.
Improvements for VPN connections in mixed IPv4 / IPv6 environments.
