11.5
Oct 5, 2021
- Auto-start triggering is now an option in the Octave and Data Recorder tools. Analysis (Octave tool) or recording (Data Recorder tool) can be set to begin only after a user-defined instantaneous signal level threshold is reached on the designated trigger channel. The trigger channel can be selected from among all input and output channels available on the selected input and output audio devices. It can be chosen independent of the channel(s) selected for analysis or recording. Up to 100 ms of data can be stored prior to the trigger event (pre-trigger delay).
- More robust triggering in all tools that support it.
- The Signal Level Meter, Signal Octave Analyzer, Max Levels, and Data Recorder tools now support 1/8 and 1/10 second increments for the auto-stop duration.
- Mac: Improved support for zoom/pan in line and surface graphs via two-finger pinch/drag gestures on the track pad. The mouse scroll wheel works for panning zoomed graphs.
- Fixed a bug which disabled output channel polarity inversion in the Sig Gen tool.
- Corrected a bug which could cause the app to crash when selecting a difference channel (e.g. Ch2-Ch1), such as when measuring electric current or impedance.
- Additional bug fixes and cosmetic/user experience improvements.
11.4
Jul 31, 2021
- Improved support for audio interfaced with DC-coupled inputs, including optional DC offset correction and DC blocking filters per input channel.
- Enhanced real-time audio processing for better performance and better measurements at higher sample rates. On the Mac, the improvements to audio handling also eliminate some bugs that could cause the app to crash or hang. The Mac version also properly recognizes changes in the list of connected devices, such as when a device is connected to or disconnected from the Mac.
- In the Signal Generator tool, DC offset can be applied independently to left and right output channels in the periodic signal generator. This DC offset can apply to the noise and sweep type signals only when the periodic signal type is switched on. You can generate a DC output signal (on hardware with DC-coupled output channels) by setting the periodic signal generator’s frequency to 0.0 and using the DC offset controls to set a DC output value.
- The Signal Generator’s sweep/chirp signal can be generated in the time domain or in the frequency domain. Frequency domain synthesis offers a truly flat (or linear) spectrum for single-channel frequency response magnitude measurements.
- Additional bug fixes and cosmetic/user experience improvements.
11.3
Jun 3, 2021
- New Pro Feature: Pro Audio users can now choose to display voltage levels in dBu rather than dBV. This currently applies to the Meter, Octave, FFT Analyzer, and Spectrogram tools.
- The Meter and Octave tools can now display non-decibel signal levels. This is convenient for directly monitoring non-acoustic levels (e.g. V rms, as opposed to dBV rms or dBu).
- Exported data from the Meter, Octave, FFT Analyzer, and Spectrogram tools follows the level type selected for display in the app (e.g. in V, dBV, or dBu in the case of voltage signals).
- Live web monitoring of the Meter and Octave tools has been updated to support non-dB and dBu levels, too.
- Direct support for miniDSP UMIK-2: Enter the serial number of your UMIK-2 to have the factory-supplied sensitivity automatically downloaded and applied for accurate measurements. Changing the input gain automatically updates the sensitivity to preserve the calibration.
- Flat frequency weighting is now labeled as Z weighting.
- The Meter tool’s single-bar graph now supports full auto and manual vertical scale adjustment, similar to the Octave tool’s graph.
- When data-logging is enabled in the Octave tool and multiple channels are selected for analysis, you can now choose in the Display Options menu which input channel to see the log data for.
- Additional vertical scale selections have been added to support instantaneous sound levels of up to 194 dB (~100 kPa) in the Oscope.
- Virtual output channels are now correctly handled on Mac.
- For input channels that support gain adjustment on the Mac, input channel gain is included in exported data.
- Additional minor bug fixes and cosmetic improvements.
11.2
Feb 8, 2021
- This update brings important changes to support impact testing (for modal analysis) in the Dual FFT Analyzer tool.
- The FFT and Dual FFT Analyzer tools now include support for exponential, force, and force exponential windows. Windows may be chosen independently for the X and Y inputs of the Dual FFT Analyzer tool.
- A graph of the data window shape can now be seen in the newly enhanced data window selection menu.
- Exponential window decay and force window length can be adjusted in the data window selection menu.
- The Dual FFT Analyzer tool now supports a pre-trigger delay and manual acceptance or rejection of raw triggered data. Before accepting or rejecting the triggered data, the raw time data for X and Y inputs may be previewed. This is useful to ensure valid measurements when acquiring impulse data for modal analysis, e.g., using an impact hammer and accelerometers to measure the response of a vibrating structure.
- It is now possible to set the maximum display frequency in the FFT and DFFT tool options menu up to 500 kHz.
- Minor bug fixes and cosmetic improvements.
11.1

- Mac: SignalScope Pro 2020 is now a Universal macOS app, including native support for both Intel processors and Apple silicon.
- Mac: Audio device selection is now independent of the system audio input and output devices. Input and output devices can be selected independently without interfering with other audio apps or system settings.
- Mac: Audio sample rates may be specified independently for input and output devices (unless the same device is selected for both input and output).
- Mac: A graphics bug has been fixed, which sometimes caused graphing problems on iMac models with NVIDIA graphics cards.
- iPad/iPhone: Nominal microphone sensitivities updated to include new iPad Air, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Pro.
- Minor bug fixes and cosmetic improvements.
