=== WHY “TAICHI EXPRESSION”: ===
The main goal of this App is to compose a Taichi program that is suitable for daily practice at home by working people with a busy schedule. The main idea is that to be effective, exercise has to be suitable, fun, balanced, and enjoyable, like a symphony orchestra playing a piece of music in movements, some high pitched, some low, some allegro and some andante. Imagine if it sticks to one tempo, then not many people would be able to tolerate it because it would become too intense, too slow, or too un-artful.
Similarly, although there have been many scientific studies on the benefits of Taichi on health, the Taichi forms visible on the screens may appear uninteresting to some, or not very effective to others. This App will attempt to give people a second look at Taichi and help develop a daily routine that is practical, convenient, fun, and enjoyable.
This program is built mostly on a month-long Taichi training program this App developer and his wife took on Wudang Mountain, China, in November of 2016. Wudang Mountain is regarded by many as a center of taoism, and taoists there and their disciples are practicing a health cultivation tradition that has lasted hundreds of years.
The first encounter of this App developer with Taichi was at a college PE class and he did well. He came to America after college and over the more than 30 years in America, between work and family he practiced various forms of Taichi, including the Simple Style 24-form, Chen-Style, and Wudang-Style. At times, he might have felt that the Chen-Style is most effective. However, he was not sure whether Taichi is indeed for him until that trip to Wudang Mountain.
After the trip, he realized that Taichi is not just the few moves that one can learn from any source. It is a daily practice and commitment to health. It is a reminder that life has different dimensions to be fulfilled, and there are basic natural truths that can betray anyone in physical and mental health. But, above all, he realized that Taichi is practical for most people, can be "composed" to be like a music, and be truly fun, enjoyable and uplifting...
It is encouraging that several disciples of the Grand Master, Zhong Yun Long (钟云龙), has opened up Taichi training camps around Wudang Mountain just within the last couple of years.

1.1
2019-03-07
1. Tai chi movements at the turns are shown more clearly with a wider angle.
2. Some improvements to tips and precautions. For example, when some tai chi movements are transitioning to the next movement, body may not be in an ideal position to do so because of some over-stretching in the current movement. In this case, moving the concerned foot a little backward or forward will prepare the body well for transitioning to the next movement.
------------------
