4.2.1 2023-01-16
Hello. This build has a few minor bug fixes that have been around but limited to very few folks and hence were not easily discoverable and fixable. You will notice the following improvements if you are one of those folks,

• Latest workout widget will work correctly now instead of showing a very old workout.
• Watch app should show the correct latest workout.
• Workouts imported into the Health app might show better splits info when available.

My thanks to the runners who helped troubleshoot these seemingly random and not very straightforward bugs.

In addition, there is more UI polish, new motivational quotes, and some work for yet-to-be-released features.

Enjoy & Stay Active!

Tempo 4.2.0 brought updated Annual Highlights with more fun stats and visualizations to celebrate 2022 and get inspired for 2023. Here's a summary of it,

• Cumulative Heart Rate Zones:
Tempo aggregates heart rate zones from every workout during the year for a single year-long heart rate zones pie chart.

• Calendar of Active Days:
A simple and unified calendar highlighting every active day. Makes a fun and unique visual of training history.

• Averages:
We already had totals for key stats, and now we also have totals averaged per workout for the year.

All of the above also works for the past years. So while you can check your year-in-review for 2022, you can also relive the past training years.
4.1.0 2022-10-30
This update has a lot of improvements across the app. Here's a quick summary of the notable changes:

• New Apple Watch Complication for the Last 7 Days Distance Graph.
• Added ability to enable/disable workout data sources. This new in-app setting is useful to avoid duplicates when workouts are synced to the Health app from multiple third-party apps. (Ideally, we should avoid synching the same workouts into the Health app via multiple sources.)
• Cumulative Graph now shows the total distance in decimal format.
• Goal widgets now auto-display a goal when only one active goal exists.
• Tempo always backs up the data, like tags and notes, created and managed in Tempo. This backup mechanism started failing recently for some folks, and in the process of fixing it, we now have a brand new Tempo Backups section under the app settings. This new UI provides the ability to easily verify that backups are being created and also restore from a backup when needed. No action is required to create backups. Tempo will continue to create backups automatically.
• Fixed a bug that would prevent the Latest Workout widget from displaying the workout's map until Tempo was opened again after a workout.

Enjoy & Happy Training!
4.0.1 2022-09-20
This update is packed with small improvements and bug fixes.

• Added the ability to tap along the route on the workout's map to view the distance and other stats at that point on the route
• Added end date to the rectangular Goal Lock Screen widget
• Added ability to emphasize map details (i.e. brighter tones) for photo sharing
• Fixed a bug where custom workouts segments would be missing
• Fixed calculation for tag's total days in use
• Fixed handling of exactly a minute intervals to not show as 59.999 seconds
• Fixed missing navigation bar in workout details when Tempo is launched via latest workout widget

Enjoy & Happy Training!

Hello. This update fixes a crash that might be happening due to workouts recorded with a Garmin watch and then imported into the Health app using a different app.

Enjoy & Keep Running/Walking!

PS: Happy running & Good luck to all the Chicago & Boston marathoners!!!
3.5.1 2021-09-30
This release is focused on all kinds of minor improvements and bug fixes.

•  Implemented duplicate workouts filtering for the Goals progress calculations. If you noticed incorrect goal progress, this should fix it now. I still recommend looking into why you have duplicate workouts in your Health data.
• Updated graphic circular watch goal complication to auto-switch from distance to the percent of completed goal when distance > 999 (mi or km). This change significantly improves complication legibility for goals with higher target distance.
• Updated watch app to show total distance (instead of just the latest workout distance) for the most recent workout day. If you run/walk/hike more than once a day, the watch app will now show the total distance for the latest workout day (e.g. “Today”).
• Fixed an issue where some premium settings (color scheme override and custom intensity baseline) were lost when Tempo was restarted.
• Updated Restore subscription button in the watch app to do a faster sync with the iPhone app.
• Fixed the launch screen (Health permission info) sizing issues for some of the older device types.

Enjoy & Keep Running/Walking!

2.12.0 2020-07-10
This release brings following new features and some minor refinements + bug fixes.

TAG MULTIPLE WORKOUTS:
Tempo now supports tagging multiple workouts at the same time. Use the Tags Log to add a new tag or apply an existing tag to multiple workouts. This makes it really convenient to add and track a new shoe tag, or easily organize workouts by tags.

WATCH APP UPDATE:

2.10.1 2020-04-28
Hello. This is a quick update with some crash fixes and following enhancements for the watch app.

• Update complication distance period from your watch:
With Tempo open on your Apple Watch, Force Touch to change the period type for the total distance in a complication slot. No more going through Tempo on iPhone to update and wait for the sync to refresh the complication to week, month, or year's mileage.

• More prominent text in circular complications:
As available on watch faces like Meridian, Infograph, etc, larger circular complications now display total distance more clearly, in a bigger font size. Looks way more intriguing and motivating. And it blends so nicely with these beautiful watch faces.

Enjoy & Keep running!
2.10.0 2020-04-14
Introducing Tempo on Apple Watch. This is for all of us, who need a little extra motivation to do our runs these days.

• Track your distance totals for the current week, month, and year with Tempo on your Apple Watch.
• Use Tempo complications on your favorite watch face to stay motivated towards your week, month, or year's distance goal.

For many of us, our goals keep us motivated through our training cycles. In the midst of a global crisis, with races getting cancelled for the current season, that motivation has been a bit lacking. So when Zac, one of Tempo's champion runner and evangelist, reached out with a suggestion about a watch complication to track the current month's total distance, I instantly knew that it was a great way to start and launch Tempo's watch app. Thank you, Zac. The app itself is simple right now, but as Zac put it, "perfect for sparking inspiration and motivation." Seeing Tempo complication on my watch face has been a perfect nudge to go for a run!

I hope you are still able to run safely by following social distancing measures, and this update helps maintain that spark and joy of running.

My best to you and your family & friends during these times of crisis. Please stay safe and healthy.
Thank you,
Rahul

v2.9.0 release notes:

Hello. This release brings some very important localization updates and bug fixes. Here's a quick summary,

LOCALIZATION:
First, my apologies and thanks to everyone around the world – with locale preferences different than US – for your patience to be tolerant of my ignorance in not realizing these issues existed, and fixing them sooner. Please do reach out if there are more locale specific preferences that I can support quickly (in English), and I will be sure to take a look.
• App-wide update to correctly display numeric values based on preferred locale settings. Example: distance value of 3.2 KM (as displayed in US) will now be displayed correctly as 3,2 KM in Germany.
• Run details screen will now display weather in ºC or ºF based on preferred locale settings.
• Fixed a bug that prevented runners from editing total distance of a run. This affected runners from locale that prefer a comma (",") over period (".") to display fractional numeric values.

AND THEN SOME MORE:
• Renaming a tag will not remove spaces from the tag name anymore.
• Landscape mode in Cumulative Graph is back!
• Fixed an issue where segments (intervals) did not show correct pace, but showed duration instead, for some folks.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me at tempo@indie.sh, or find me on twitter @TempoLog. And if you are liking Tempo, please take a moment to rate it in the App Store — it really helps.

Enjoy & Keep Running!

Hello. This release brings some very important localization updates and bug fixes. Here's a quick summary,

2.8.2 2020-01-23
Happy New Year! This is a minor update to fix an issue where some folks reported free trial to paid subscription not happening instantly. Nothing major in this release otherwise. Thank you for your patience.

———

Here's what we released with the 2.8.0 update:

EDIT TOTAL DISTANCE
Keep your log precise by maintaining the accuracy of every run's total distance. This is especially useful for scenarios like races or treadmill runs, when tracked distance may not reflect actual distance.

SATELLITE MODE
Relive your run with real-life satellite imagery of the route. You can also share the satellite view of your route with elevation graph.

PAUSE INDICATORS
Know how long you ran versus paused with the updated details screen to separately display total duration and total pause time during a run. In addition, view breakdown of total pause time by splits — now supported for segments too.

UI IMPROVEMENTS
Enjoy a more streamlined screen flow through out the app. Everything is still there and same, but will feel way more natural.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me at tempo@indie.sh, or find me on twitter @TempoLog. And if you are liking Tempo, please take a moment to rate it in the App Store — it really helps.

2019 has been a solid revival year for Tempo. We have some great stuff planned for 2020.

Happy 2020!
2.8.1 2019-12-18
Happy Holidays! Wrapping up 2019 with minor, but notable improvements right before we get into new goals for the new year :)

This is a quick update to fix a crash that might happen when going into the details of some runs with segments (intervals) data. Nothing major in this release otherwise.

2.7.0 2019-11-07
This is a slightly bigger release with 2 sets of updates rolled into 1. It includes elevation graph, splits for segments, and some really nice improvements to graphs.

SPLITS FOR SEGMENTS
View distance along with pace, heart rate, and cadence of manually marked segments. These segments can be created by double-tapping on the watch display, during a run, with an active Workout app on the screen.

ELEVATION GRAPH
View detailed elevation data on a Map along with the route of a run, or with other Graphs to compare with pace, heart rate, and cadence.

MAP WITH SPLITS INFO
On the Map screen, view pace, heart rate, and cadence of a split by tapping any of the distance markers along the route of a run.

INTERACTIVE GRAPHS
Tap any of the graphs to view elevation, pace, heart rate, and cadence recorded at a specific time during a run.

ZOOM-TO-FIT GRAPHS
Graphs can now be zoomed to fit an entire run's data set on the screen. This is especially useful for longer runs.

YEARLY CUMULATIVE GRAPHS
In addition to weekly and monthly options, cumulative graph can now be aggregated to view entire training year-by-year.

PERCENTAGE CHANGE IN DISTANCE
This is an experimental enhancement to cumulative graph that displays percentage change in distance ran over the selected period (weekly, monthly, or yearly).

2.6.2 2019-09-26
Hello, the last version of Tempo was 2.6.0. With iOS 13.1 out, the running nerd in me wanted to express a gesture of respect towards the marathon distance with a 2.6.2 release. I wanted to do something simple and quick, but special for this one, so I picked up another version of dark mode theme. It was scrapped in favor of what we currently have as the default dark mode. After spending some time on it, to my surprise, the result is a beautiful new theme that we are calling Deep Blue. The name is still tentative for this one, we considered Blue Medal, Endurance Blue, Magic Blue, but for now Deep Blue it is. Please feel free to send your suggestions for the name.

Quick bug fixes,

∙ Thanks to one of the runners from NZ for pointing out that the active energy is always displayed in Calories (instead of kJ for their locale). Very sorry for that, and it's now fixed to use your locale based preference. As a side note, Tempo will request a new Health permission to access active energy data point. While Tempo could already read this data from our workouts, to detect the preferred energy unit (Cal vc kJ), we have to explicitly request to read the active energy data.

∙ And thanks to yet another runner, who mentioned that sharing only worked for details and maps screen, but not for graphs. Not sure how I missed it. Graphs in Tempo are so powerful and detailed. So sharing from graphs will now generate a screenshot of the graphs on the screen. Please share away and help spread the word!

We have a lot of amazing things lined up, but in the mean time, enjoy the tiny-marathon release :)

Thank You & Keep Running!
2.6.0 2019-09-19
This release is focussed on iOS 13 updates with support for dark mode. Entire app has been rewired to implement dark mode. And while we were at it, we also polished up some rough edges.

Dark mode is available for free. Tempo auto-enables and disables dark mode based on your system preference.

OVERRIDE DARK MODE
Premium subscribers can also override dark mode to be different just for Tempo. In other words, you can use Tempo in dark mode and leave dark mode off for your device, or vice-versa.

DOUBLE RUN DAYS
This release also includes a small, but important detail to the Intensity Log. There are times when we run twice in a day. Intensity circles for such days are now tagged with total runs. Tapping on a double run day will show a quick list of runs to select from and view details. And yes, it also works for 2+ runs.

If you are enjoying Tempo, please take a minute and rate Tempo in the App Store. It really helps improve Tempo's ranking for other runners to find it easily.

Thank You & Keep Running!
______

ps: I am curious, do we have any runners who run more than twice a day? I would love to hear from you!
2.5.0 2019-08-22
This update brings ability to analyze cadence data in 2 ways,
1. Cadence for individual splits
2. Cadence graph

We also fixed some bugs for the recently released Tag Logs screen.

Please take a minute and rate Tempo in the App Store if you are liking it. It helps improve Tempo's ranking and discoverability. Thank you!
2.4.0 2019-08-13
This release includes one of the most requested features – ability to rename and delete tags. To rename or delete a tag,
(1) Swipe left on a row of Tags Log screen or (2) Tap a row of Tags Log screen to view all the runs of a selected tag, and then tap Edit in the top right corner.

If you are enjoying Tempo, please take a few minutes to write a review. It will help improve Tempo's ranking and discoverability in the App Store. Thank you!
2.3.0 2019-07-25
This release includes a new screen called Tags Log, and some minor bug fixes.

Tags Log is a quick way to view all your tags in one place, and listing all the runs of a selected tag. We are also working on an update to support renaming and deleting tags.

If you are enjoying Tempo, please take a few minutes to write a review. It will help improve Tempo's ranking and discoverability in the App Store. Thank you!
2.2.0 2018-09-17
Hello. This is a minor release to support upcoming updates. There is one tiny, but very useful, addition – when data is available, we now have Total Climb (elevation gain) displayed on details screen of a run.

———

Here's what we added with previous version (v2.1.0):

• Route Maps
Finally! This one took extra time to tune correctly and specifically to show split markers along the route. Hopefully we got most of the common scenarios working well.

• New Filter Results
Filters now show total runs and distance for selected filters. This is really useful for folks who like to track shoes with tags.

• Private Sharing
New share action to privately share a run's splits or route map, or just save the screenshot. Tempo is not a social network, but we are all social in our own ways; and sometimes it’s really motivating to share a run with close friends and family for an extra high-five.

If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me at tempo@indie.sh or find me on twitter @TempoLog.
