"قصر الشوق" هو الجزء الثانى لرواية "بين القصرين" والتى تدور أحداثها حول أسرة "السيد أحمد عبد الجواد" وفى "قصر الشوق" بعد أن مات "فهمى" ابن "السيد أحمد عبد الجواد ، تمر خمس سنوات ويخرج الأب إلى الحياة ، لقد انتقلت بناته بعد زواجهن إلى حى قصر الشوق بالجمالية ، حيث ولدت زنوبة فى بيت زبيدة العالمة ، ولم يلتفت إليها السيد عبد الجواد وقد ترك حياة الليل ، يقرر السيد عبد الجواد العودة إلى منزل زبيدة العالمة ، ويفاجأ أن طفلة الأمس زنوبة قد كبرت وأصبحت فتاة ، وتستطيع زنوبة أن تجعل السيد عبد الجواد يقع فى حبها وتقنعه بشراء عوامة لها ، ولكنها فى نفس الوقت تحب ياسين ابن السيد أحمد عبد الجواد دون أن تعرف من هو ، وتتزوجه وتدخل أسرة السيد عبد الجواد كزوجة محترمة لابنه ، أما ابنه كمال فيحب عايدة ، لكنها لا تتزوجه وتتركه يكفر بالمبادئ والمثل التى آمن بها ، بعد أن تعايره بفقره وتتزوج من أحد الشباب الأثرياء.
