Allworx Classic Reach

* checks for iOS version and, if appropriate, recommends software upgrades for the Reach app or your Allworx server.

Classic Reach exists to provide legacy VoIP support for users on Allworx servers running software between version 7.5 and 8.2, and for closed network environments where the Apple Push Notification Service is not accessible. If your Allworx server is running software version 8.3 or higher and your network supports push notifications, Classic Reach will detect that and guide you through the process of downloading Allworx Reach 5.0 and migrating your existing settings.

Version 4.2.1 includes some improvements for users migrating their settings from Classic Reach to the new Reach 5 app.

This version is a partial iOS 11 compatibility release. It keeps the app running (in foreground or background) during active calls, and while the device is plugged into its power source. However, when the device is unplugged, its access to the network severely restricted, and incoming calls will be missed. We are continuing to investigate short-term solutions, so stay tuned for future updates. For now, we recommend delaying the installation of iOS 11 if you are an Allworx Reach for iOS user.

A future release of Reach and Allworx Server software will support Apple Push Notifications, which is Apple’s preferred method for waking up devices.

*** Note: However, this version has a known issue with distorted microphone in iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (not 6S and 6S Plus). Next version with a fix is expected to be published around 11/6/2015.
