About AsthmaWatch
This app displays real time and historical values from environmental sensor positioned in the city of Stockholm. Most sensors indicates the quality of the air. In addition to the air quality sensors several relevant climate measurements are also displayed. You can read more about the parameters and how they can affect your health inside the app.
The app has been built using the Almanac Smart City Enablers.
The following air quality parameters are measured:
PM2.5
"Particle pollution, also called particulate matter or PM, is a mixture of solids and liquid droplets floating in the air. Fine particles (PM2.5) are 2.5 micrometers in diameter or smaller, and can only be seen with an electron microscope. Fine particles are produced from all types of combustion, including motor vehicles, power plants, residential wood burning, forest fires, agricultural burning, and some industrial processes"
PM10
"Coarse dust particles (PM10) are 2.5 to 10 micrometers in diameter. Sources include crushing or grinding operations and dust stirred up by vehicles on roads."
NO2
"Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is one of a group of highly reactive gases known as "oxides of nitrogen" or "nitrogen oxides (NOx)".
O3
"Ozone (O3) is a gas that can form and react under the action of light and that is present in two layers of the atmosphere. High up in the atmosphere, ozone forms a layer that shields the Earth from ultraviolet rays. However, at ground level, ozone is considered a major air pollutant."
Air temperature
"Air temperature is a measure of how hot or cold the air is. It is the most commonly measured weather parameter. "
Relative humidity
"Relative humidity (abbreviated RH) is the ratio of the partial pressure of water vapor to the equilibrium vapor pressure of water at a given temperature."
Solar irradiance
"Solar irradiance is the power per unit area received from the Sun in the form of electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range of the measuring instrument."
Sunshine hours
"The time the direct solar irradiance is larger than 120 W/m²."
