About iACAAN
IACAAN:
Original concept and visual design: Benjamin Vianney
Development and programming: HSKA
A simple and effective mentalist effect that will totally mystify you audience!
Effect:
For many years, the ACAAN effect (Any Card At Any Number) has been a real challenge for magicians: how can you place a card in a specific position when both are freely chosen from a full deck?
In order to achieve this, methods involving trick decks or complex calculations or procedures are generally used.
The Benjamin Vianney method uses an iPhone/iPod, supposedly to calculate statistics.
Using an iPhone/iPod means you can do without complicated and difficult techniques and concentrate fully on your presentation of the effect.
Basic effect:
Invite the audience to participate in an unusual experience using an ordinary deck of cards.
Ask a spectator to think of a card and a number between 1 and 52 (i.e.: the 3 of clubs and 19).
Once they have chosen, enter the answers into your iPhone/iPod using the application.
A graph representing the chosen card and number will appear on your iPhone/iPod.
After commenting on the various percentages in the graph (column) and explaining that the odds of success are really very low, hand the deck of cards to a spectator.
They will deal the cards one by one up to the chosen number (in our example: 19) and the magic works... The 19th card is indeed the 3 of clubs!
Key features:
No mathematical calculations necessary (handled automatically by the application).
No need to memorize the deck
No trick cards (ordinary deck).
No forcing (the spectator can really choose any card and any number).
Can also be done with two spectators (i.e.: the first thinks of a card and the second of a number).
The spectator counts the cards.
Easy to do in any situation.
High audience impact.
