About Lboro Comps
Social Sport
The Social Sport programme offers free, competitive sport that allows the participants to play socially in both weekly leagues and a series of one day events throughout the academic year. You can represent your department, society and/or as a group of friends. You can define your own level of competition. Many students get involved to take a break from their academic commitments, some play for the social aspect and others enjoy competing with their peers.
Social Sport Leagues
The leagues and one day events are free* to join and all equipment is provided. Not only are they great ways to play competitive sport at the university the Social Sport programme is a fantastic way to stay active and socialise.
Social Sport One Day Events
We run a series of one day events throughout the academic year in a wide variety of sports that you can get involved with. The events for 2019/20 will be announced in early October.

Hall Sport (IMS)
Also called Intra-Mural Sport (IMS), this is a free programme open to every Loughborough University student. It’s a fantastic way to make friends and compete in a range of sports that will ensure you get the most out of your hall experience.
IMS is comprised of leagues and a series of one day events. Every week there are 90 league fixtures and over the course of each year we host 20 one day events.
The programme is not just for first year students as any student can affiliate to a hall to participate in IMS. This year long battle between halls culminates with the IMS Awards where the university’s best kept secret, the winners of IMS, finally gets revealed.
How Hall Sport (IMS) works
Each Hall of Residence will enter a team into every league and one day event across the year. Points are awarded based on the grading of the sport and the position the hall finishes, with the hall that has the most points at the end of the year is crowned the overall winner at the IMS presentation evening.
N.B. If you are injured through participating in IMS please be aware that there are certain Terms and Conditions regarding when and why you may be able to claim. If you are considering making a claim please familiarise yourself with these by requesting the information from your sport secs who have access to the policy and claim guidance.
