ndThread

Any message or reply can be pinned to be easily referenced later. This feature may be useful for saving important announcements, files, and messages. Pinned messages are visible and accessible to all users with permission to access the thread. Pinned messages can be accessed within the Thread Details panel located in the top right.

- Thumbnails will be displayed for every document that has been inserted into a thread or direct message. (Any file type that cannot be previewed will not show a thumbnail.)
- The default avatar has been made gender neutral by changing it to a colored background with the user's initials.
- Reactions can now be added to any message or reply. A user can add different reactions to each message and remove reactions they previously added.
- Documents listed in the Documents page of a workspace can be deleted, if the user has sufficient access rights.
- The gear icon to configure and take action on a thread has been moved. It will no longer appear when hovering over the thread name in the list of threads but instead appears in the header bar for a thread.

- Added a new preferences dialog for Conversations, accessed via the Profile Menu. Here you can modify the settings to only be notified of activity in conversations you are participating in, instead of the default which is to be notified of activity in every conversation.

- Added a Dark Mode feature, which can be toggled via a slider on the Profile Menu.

Performance enhancements and bug fixes

- Conversations can be created in all threads and direct messages. This feature allows users to reply to specific posts, which enables multiple conversations to take place in the same thread without overlapping. Access the list of conversations in a thread or direct message from the new Conversations tab in the right pane.

- With the cursor inside the message area, use the up arrow to edit the message above, if added by the same user.

- The user's most recent emojis will appear at the top of top of the list of emojis.

- Markdown support has been enhanced to allow formatting of text in messages (italics, bold, etc.).

- When editing an existing message, the text editor works the same way as the editor for creating new messages, including support for @mentions. Hitting "Enter" will submit the changes.

- @mention matching will match against the beginning of the names of users. And the list of @mention users are shown alphabetically.

- The color scheme has been modified to more closely match the NetDocuments web interface.

- The mobile app now supports access to message actions by by pressing on the message.

- When workspaces names are changed in NetDocuments, the updated names will appear in ndThread.

- Clicking the user information at the top of the page will display the Users tab to the right, but will not close that pane.

- Embedded links are handled differently. The size of the web image is increased, the "Go to Website" link is removed and the embedded content can be collapsed.

- Added the ability to click the timestamp of a stitch component to toggle between normal and relative time.

- Embedded document names are now truncated to 75 characters followed by an ellipses, with a tooltip that shows the entire filename.

- A comment bubble icon will be displayed for every document that has comments added to the official version. (Hovering over the bubble icon will show how many comments.) When previewing a document, the version selector will show the comment bubble icon for each version if it contains comments.

- When another user is typing a post for a thread or direct message, a note to that effect will be shown to other members of the thread or direct message.

- The Join Workspaces dialog will automatically show up to 25 of a user's recent workspaces to make it easy for the user to find workspaces they want to join.
Multiple join and leave activity for the same thread in the same period of time will be shown as a single post.
When an internal user joins a workspace and is added to every public thread in that workspace, a user-joined post will be added to every thread.

ndThread Version 1.2.0 Release Notes

Repository Selector Enhancements

If a user has access to multiple repositories where ndThread has been enabled, the repository selector will provide the user with hints that there are unread messages in repositories besides the selected one. First, if there are unread messages in another repository, the repository selector arrow will change from blue to orange. Second, when the selector menu is opened, a badge icon will appear over every repository with unread messages, so the user will know exactly where to navigate to read those messages.

The search page and search results have been moved to a popup dialog
Emails sent by ndThread use consistent headers so they can be "rolled up" in email clients that support this feature

We're excited to announce the release of ndThread version 1.1.0!

New Features
- Repository selector (which is shown only if a user has access to multiple repositories where ndThread is enabled). Workspaces and direct messages shown in their tabs will be limited to the currently selected repository, as will the workspace and user lookups
- External users can be given access to ndThread content, provided they have already have been given access in ndWeb to the direct message cabinet and to any workspaces
- Individual workspace threads and direct messages can manually be exported to CSV or PDF
- Ability to delete a thread (limited to the thread creator or a Cabinet Administrator)
- Ability to rename a thread (limited to the thread creator or a Cabinet Administrator)
- When the user does not have an internet connection, access to ndThread is blocked ensure that there is no loss of data. The user is informed that they do not have an internet connection
- The business rules for when notifications are suppressed, based on the ndThread application being opened, have been softened, so that notifications are less likely to be suppressed
- The message shown when a document is added to or referenced in a thread has been updated to be more generic
- In the list of direct messages, where the content of the last message is shown, the list indicates whether the last message came from you or another user

This is mostly a bug-fix release with some behind-the-scenes changes getting ready for future improvements.

Issues Addressed
- Fixed an issue where email notifications weren't reliably being sent.
- Fixed various search related issues for private messages.
- Occasionally, a user was redirected to a link when navigating to a DM where the last message was a link and the user had previously clicked on it before exiting ndThread.
- Fixed issues around annotation area wrapping and scrolling.
- If you clicked on a document preview from within the desktop app, the close button was sometimes unavailable.
- Fixed an issue where scrolling to the top of a thread didn't load the previous batch.
- Cursor moves back to the beginning of the message every time when select any emoji.
- Fixed an issue where the client would try to navigate to a workspace that you previously un-joined. This resulted in unexpected behavior.
- Fixed an issue where users might be un-joined from workspaces if the platform returns an error code.
- Redirect to notification url when notification is clicked on mobile.
- Fixed an issue where ndThread occasionally wouldn't scroll to the most recent message when it arrives.
- When you scroll all the way to the top of a given thread, the previous batch wasn't loading.
