En 1569, Casiodoro de Reina legó al mundo de habla castellana su insuperable traducción de los textos bíblicos, la cual llegó a ser conocida como la Biblia del Oso. Treinta años después, en 1602, Cipriano de la biblia reina valera contemporรกnea realizó la primera revisión de dicha traducción. Es interesante notar que, con el tiempo, esta revisión llegó a conocerse como la versión de Cipriano de Valera. El revisor había superado al traductor.
