Element 1.11.8 is now available as a bug fix update with the following changes:

• Fix Dictation when using the Rich Text Editor.
• Fix QR Code Scanning when the camera is too close.
• Disable the Mark As Unread feature which was incompatible with Element Web and Element X.

Happy new year everyone, today we released a new version of Element which fixes some bugs and improves the overall stability of the application.

Element 1.11.5 is a maintenance update with bug fixes for the following:

• There was a bug where a notification inviting you to chat would sometimes be silently dropped.
• Editing a message that ends with an emoji now works as expected.
• Jitsi calls respond accordingly when removed from a room or ended by the moderator.

In this stability release we fixed a couple of bugs around the rich text editor and login with QR code and we exposed a new well known option for enabling Jitsi for one to one calls

This build makes some minor changes to account and device management when using a homeserver that is configured with native OIDC (our shiny new login technology).

This version of Element removes some features that were causing issues with encrypted messages:

• Element no longer appears in the iOS Share sheet. You can still share your photos, videos and files within the app.
• Long pressing on a notification won’t show a reply field. Reply by tapping the notification to open the app.
• Asking Siri to send a message is not possible any more. Siri is available from the keyboard within the app however.

On a more exciting note, Device Dehydration v2 is now available to homeservers using this feature and bug fixes are included for opening newer rooms versions and signing in with SSO.

It's great when one of your friends sends you their location on the map, but let’s be honest, reading a map isn't exactly easy if you don't know where you are! No need to worry any longer, in this new update maps now show a nice little button that displays your own position too. But that’s not all, this release also includes:
- An updated version of the Rich Text Editor, be sure to give it a try in Labs.
- Bug fixes for voice message recording, which can now also be replayed without any issue.
