淹沒之城是第三人稱無戰鬥遊戲，在其中你可以探索神秘的汪洋城市，在偌大的戶外環境中發現荒涼之美。你成為米古的角色，一個年輕女孩帶著她受傷的弟弟，乘著他們的小漁船來到這個城市。用船到處探索汪洋城市，登上沉沒的建築物，用望遠鏡看清城市，尋找可以拯救弟弟的補給品。用自己的步調探索城市時，你碰上了多采多姿、繁茂生長的棲息地，而發現隱藏的物品慢慢拼湊出破碎世界還有一個破碎家庭的故事。
