WowPaint Description
Pattern/texture designers: You’ll find the app’s unique feature set very useful when making repeatable images (patterns).
Other artists: WowPaint is great for drawing and painting “normal” art as well!

• CREATE SEAMLESS PATTERNS •
Use the Seamless Pattern Options to aid you in creating seamless patterns that can be used as website or desktop backgrounds, in print, or for textures in 3d modeling.

When you have switched on Wrap X/Y, any strokes you paint that go over the picture’s edge will continue on the opposite side.
That means that there will be no hard edges where strokes are cut off (since they continue instead), which makes the picture a perfect candidate for being seamlessly repeated.

A tremendous help when using the Wrapped Painting mode is the option of having the picture displayed as tiles next to each other.
You’re free to paint anywhere on these tiles, and you will see the results in real time.
You can also switch on Edge Indicators, to make it easier to see where the picture being repeated begins and ends.

• FINGERTIP = STROKE SIZE •
When you paint, the app measures how much of your finger is touching the screen and changes the stroke size accordingly.
There’s a huge difference between using just the corner of your fingertip and pressing down the whole fingerprint area!
A 2nd tool assigned to your finger will still use this feature, so don’t ignore it just because you have an Apple Pencil!

• LEFT-HANDED? •
Just swipe the toolbar over to the other side!

• PARAMETERS CAN BE CHANGED LIVE •
Use any buttons or controls to change/adjust color, size, force, simultaneously while painting.

• UNIVERSAL PURCHASE •
If you choose to buy the Pro upgrade, this one-time in-app purchase will unlock all Pro features in the app on all available platforms (iPad-iPhone-Mac)!

• METAL •
The engine is based on Metal, with 128-bit color and floating-point arithmetic.

• SWIFT •
The app was developed entirely using Swift (earlier versions used C++).

• APPLE PENCIL SUPPORT • FULL SCREEN PAINTING •
• DARK MODE • LANDSCAPE • PORTRAIT • WIDE COLOR •
• MULTIPLE LAYERS • PHOTO TRACING MODE (Pro feature) •

Some minor improvements and bug fixes.
2.1.0 2015-11-12
The paintings now have a higher resolution (4 times as many pixels) on all devices with Retina screens.
Since that means the app needs to process 4 times the data it used to, we obviously needed to make things faster.
We have optimized as much as humanly possible, with assembler code and improved use of multiple CPU cores.
Some parts of the app will actually run faster than before, but on some older Retina devices other parts might be a bit slower.
We will continue to optimize even more, so please bear with us.
The stored paintings (Work in Progress) now take up less storage space, despite the higher resolution (they will not be re-saved until you select them, so it might be a good idea to cycle through them).
Added a new Eyedropper tool (Pro feature, found in the menu that appears when you tap a 2nd time on the selected color).
Brush strokes initiated immediately after one another will now share the same Undo step.
When the toolbar automatically hides (by painting near it) it is now gone for a slightly longer time, to facilitate painting with quickly repeated brush strokes.
New animated "Please Wait" messages.
After clearing the painting or one of its layers, the app now automatically switches to the last used painting tool (if needed), since there's absolutely no use for e.g. an Eraser on a blank painting.
(Pro) You can now Swap the selected layer with any other layer, instead of just the layer directly above/below.
Added new 'Move Layer in Stack' (Pro) feature.
The painting engine has been optimized in various ways.
Some improvements to make the app compatible with iPad Pro.
Swiping along the toolbar to minimize it is now an optional feature (default is 'off').
Fixed some minor memory leaks.
Fixed a bug that could make the 'Change Layer' button temporarily show the wrong icon if pressed repeatedly.
Some additional minor bug fixes, improvements and optimizations.
2.0.0 2015-01-08

More colors in the color sets/palettes.
Tap twice on the eraser and you will be asked if you want to clear the painting or the current layer.
Added optional 'Hide Other Layers' button, which toggles between viewing all layers and just the one you're working on.
(To switch it on, open the Work in Progress screen and check the last option found in Settings->Toolbar.)
Various improvements and optimizations.
Improved stability.
Some critical and some minor bug fixes.
1.4.0 2014-07-08
