APPLE WATCH: The app brings most of the functionality of the app to your wrist.

WIDGET: Bus++ includes an iOS10 friendly Widget that lets you quickly view the arrivals for the closest 3 stops to your location.

REMINDERS: You can choose a bus you would like to take and Bus++ will remind you when it's time to go catch it.

INTELLIGENT: The time of day and your usage habits help Bus++ decide which bus stops to prioritise.

This version fixes the bug stopping the app from loading any data. Unfortunately to get this working I have had to remove the Apple Watch app for the moment.

Thanks for everyones patience with this issue as well as the kind-of-rocky state of the app this last year or so. I am cooking up a big refresh of the app that should hopefully stop these kinds of issues from happening but it's probably a few months away. If you're interested in getting a sneak peak of this new version drop me a line using the feedback button in the app and I'll let you know as soon as a beta version is available.

Cheers,
Chris

Whoops, I accidentally set everybody's app to hide all busses by default. Not a good default. This is fixed now. Thanks to everybody who let me know about this.

This update should let you filter out busses again. Big thanks to those who emailed in about this issue.

This update fixes the "no arrivals" bug that has made the app unusable for much of last week. Whoops. Thanks to all of you who wrote in about this and thanks in general to everyone for their patience. If you know someone else who is still having the "no arrivals" issue (either with Bus++ or Metlink Commuter) please let them know about this update.

This update has a couple of little treats.

Dark Mode: Bus++ will now defaultly change its background based on your dark mode setting. You can turn this off or choose the specific backgrounds you'd like in the settings screen.

Siri Shortcuts: Bus++ now supports Siri Shortcuts, letting you checkout the latest arrivals for a stop with your voice. If you'd like to set this up tap the "..." menu on a stop and choose "Add to Siri".

There's a few other bits and pieces that have been tidied up too. These come mostly as a result of people sending in feedback or bug reports so thanks everybody who has done this.

This update addresses some issues around outdated stop information. It also should fix quite a few crashes, particularly around the Apple Watch app. The app now has an option in the settings screen for hiding all service warnings. Finally, the app has one less typo than it did last update.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this update by sending in their feedback / bugs.

New In 2.2.2

This update adds suport for reduced motion, custom themes and also fixes a number of nasty bugs related to the stop-switcher.

REDUCED MOTION: This update adds support a reduced-motion setting. This dials back some of the animations that can make some users feel a bit unwell. This can be enabled in the settings screen in the app or system wide in your devices settings app under General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.

THEMES: Picking a good background for the app is hard. Now you can share in my pain and carefully pick your favorite theme from the settings screen of the app.

New In 2.2.0 :

This update consists of a bunch of under the hood preperations to get Bus++ ready for the big timetable changes on July 15th. Fingers crossed everything should go smooothly when the time comes but if you do notice anything odd please let me know so Bus++ can get fixed as soon as possible.

In addition to this there are a few extra nuggets of niceness in this update as well. Most of these are a direct results of feedback sent in through the app so thanks to all of you who got in touch.

TRAINS: The app now supports trains! From the map screen you can now add train stations as well as bus stops.

STOP MANAGEMENT: The Stop Switcher (accessible by tapping the dots at the bottom of the screen) now lets you quickly reorganize and delete stops by dragging and dropping.

WIDGET: The widget has had a slight redesign which also means the bus times should no longer get cut off for users with small text sizes.

CRASHES: There's been a number of crashes relating to iOS 10 and the Apple Watch which have been cleaned up.

DESIGN: To reflect the big changes to the bus network Bus++ is sporting a slightly new look. There's some fancy new backgrounds which will now change with the time of day.

Just a few bugs squashed here and there. Should see a few less crashes and a few less cases of disappearing busses. A big thanks to those who've sent in feedback which helped to identify the issues fixed in this release.

------
In all the excitement of releasing Bus++ 2.0 a few bugs managed to sneak into the app (including some embarrassing spelling errors by the "develoepr"). This update squashes these bugs and also includes some tweaks to the design of the widget and stop switcher based on feedback from users.

2.0
------
Bus++ is 2 years old! To celebrate, Bus++ has gotten a pretty big facelift and a couple of new features.

- Cleaned up design: A bunch of the distracting fluff has been removed and the important stuff has gotten brighter and bolder. Hopefully the app should be generally clearer and a little less odd.

- iOS 10 Widget: The today widget has been redesigned to be an iOS 10 friendly widget. You can still find the widget on your Today view but you also now see the arrivals for your nearest stop by force touching the Bus++ app icon.

- Stop Switcher: For users with many favourites swiping through pages and pages of stops to get to the one you need can be tiresome. To help with this you can now tap the dots at the bottom of the screen to bring up the Stop Switcher and quickly jump to any of your favourites.

Thanks to everyone for putting up with Bus++, especially those who wrote in through the app's feedback feature. Features like the Stop Switcher are a direct result of people writing in to let me know what they love/hate about the app

CHANGES

Apple Watch: Rejoice Apple Watch owning Bus++ users (both of you), Bus++ now has a WatchOS 2 app. The app brings most of the functionality of the main app on your wrist. Additionally the app will make an educated guess at the stop you will next be interested in and bubble up a sampling of the arrivals to a Glance.

'Design': The whole app has had a fresh coat of paint so everything should be a little less fugly.

Continuity: If you open up a stop on one of your devices you can hand off to another device saving you up to a second. You can even handoff to your mac to open up the associated metlink webpage.

Voiceover: The app now has improved voiceover support so those with visual impairments will have a better time using the app.

REMOVALS

Server backed reminders: Unfortunately reminders set with the app will no longer be kept up to date by the Bus++ server. The Bus++ server came crumbling down with a number of 3rd party dependencies shutting down earlier this year. Hopefully someday the feature can return, but for now all reminders will only update with late/early arrivals if you open the app.

Thanks once more to everybody who's been putting up with Bus++, especially those who've written in with suggestions and feedback. There's a few fairly big changes this time so let me know with the feedback page what you think (particularly with respect to the map).

CHANGES
--------
- NEW MAP DESIGN: The map screen has been totally overhauled. It now expands to fill the screen so you won't be accidentally swiping between pages when trying to get around the map. If you are on iOS 9 you will also be treated to a 3D view of stops you select so you can get a better idea of where they are.

- DISTRUPTION ALERTS: If there is a distruption to one of your favourite busses or stops Bus++ will now warn you about this (these can be silenced so you won't be disturbed by the same update all the time).

- QUICK ACTIONS: If you have a fancy new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus you can push hard on the Bus++ app icon to quickly launch to one of your favourite stops or to your current location on the map.

- REMINDERS TWEAKS: The app will now remember your walk times for reminders so you won't need to keep re-entering these. This view has also been tidied up to be a little less confusing. The server has been brought back online so your reminders will be kept up to date again if a bus is early or late.

- SMARTER LAUNCHING: Bus++ can now figure out which busses you normally take at different times of the day to show you, for example, your regular morning bus when you check the app in the morning.

- NEW BACKGROUNDS: Some of the background images have been tweaked or replaced to hopefully make the text a bit more readable.

- WIDGET TWEAKS: A bunch of bug fixes mean the widget should launch quicker and crash less. Tapping on a stop in the widget will also now take you to the full app.

- BUG FIXES: A bunch of Bus++'s long standing bugs have been squashed, so the app should be a fair bit more stable now. Classics like 'header text is way off the side of screen' should hopefuly be a thing of the past.

The app has had a fresh coat of paint this time. The app should look a little slicker and a bit less out of place on your iPhone now. Don't worry it's still pretty crummy so should be plenty familiar. I also squeezed in a couple of bug fixes too. Most importantly some stops, like the Wellington Hospital one, are no longer bugged.

Big thanks to those who gave feedback and bug reports, it really helps.
