About Chinese Vocabulary Flashcards
This adaptive over-3000-entry Mandarin Chinese Vocabulary Flashcards app starts with a 88 entry-level vocabulary and downloads more advanced vocabulary while you increase your mastery by swiping the cards up.
Non-beginners, please swipe up all the initial vocabulary to receive the more advanced vocabulary sooner.
The app presents a new entry every 15 seconds. There are three audio playback modes:
- Chinese first
- English first
- Chinese only
The pause after each audio playback lets you guess the word or the meaning. You know the entry? Just swipe up. That will increase your mastery level of the entry. You don't? Swipe down. Remember that this is a self-reporting tool. Nobody is testing nobody, nobody will be the winner, or nobody will fail. Swiping up or down truthfully will help the app learn which entries it should present to you more often, which entries less, and how soon it should present new entries without overwhelming you with too many new vocabulary.
Both "Traditional" and "Simplified" characters are available. You can turn the pinyin on or off. Additionally, some entries are marked as "Mainland China", or "Taiwan".
By default, your mastery levels are stored locally. If you would like to use multiple devices and retain your levels, tap the "Change User or Create Account" button at the Settings page. Create an account on one device and then sign in on another. Your levels will be transferred to the cloud and will be shared among all the devices you are signed in.
