The Newcastle App delivers information about Newcastle, Australia using immersive, interactive experiences that help residents and visitors get the most from the city. Coupling exciting emerging technologies like augmented reality with location and real-time city information, the City App will bring the stories and places of the city to life to help everyone discover Newcastle. The app is brought to you by the City of Newcastle.

• Augmented Reality – View interactive experiences overlaid on the physical world through your mobile device. Examples include Signage, Public Art, Murals, Posters, Flyers, Documents, Historical/Heritage, Libraries and more.
• Places – Searchable locations of places, points of interest, public art; destinations such as Parks, Sportsgrounds, Beaches, Baths, Libraries, Museum, Art Gallery, Civic Theatre, Fort Scratchley; as well as comprehensive lists of restaurants, bars, accommodation and tourist attractions.

The major new feature in this version of the City of Newcastle app is virtual tours at selected places. Keep an eye out for an upcoming trail showcasing all our places with virtual tours.

- Fixed some rare, subtle bugs when using the search field from the Discover screen.
- Also when using the search field on the Discover screen, we scroll things into place to avoid the keyboard.
