The founding members of the ICAC are The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago. Since its establishment, the ICAC seeks to represent the interests of Accountants in the region and has provided a forum for the advancement of the accountancy profession in the Caribbean. Currently, ICAC has a membership of approximately 4,000 professionals and is the leading regional organization dedicated to advancing the interest of accountants and professionals in the finance industry within the Caribbean, through the promotion of internationally acceptable standards and best practices, thought leadership, research and continuing professional development.

The ICAC continues to uphold and promote the fundamental values of the accountancy profession namely Truth and Fairness, Integrity, Justice and Prosperity, which is embedded in their motto: Veritas et Viritus (Truth and Virtue).

The flagship event continues to be the annual conference in June each year, with Jamaica hosting this year (2019) through its local affiliate ICAJ
